Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com reports that veteran running back Rudi Johnson has agreed to terms with the Lions.
Johnson arrived in Detroit for a visit last night.
As we hear it, the Bengals were interested in possibly bringing him back. The Texans and Jets also showed interest in Johnson.
In Detroit, Johnson is expected to serve as the No. 2 tailback, behind rookie starter Kevin Smith.

This might be the brightest pick up the Lions have made in years.

At this point in his career he’ll no doubt be “the No. 2 tailback” figuratively and literally.

Good luck Rudi! Cincinnati’s loss is Detroit’s gain.
We will miss you and all you did for the community in Cincinnati.

Millen finally does something worthy of his position. It only took him 7 years do something smart with his roster.
Champagne for everyone.

I true, that really doesn’t say much for the Lions.

Wow, Matt Millen has had a great offseason for once. Completely revamped the secondary, loaded up the defensive line in the draft and had the balls to keep every single one of them, drafted the next ROY in Kevin Smith, and now replaced Tatum Bell with a hard-running backup. Only two more jackasses on the roster; hopefully Cody will be traded soon and Backus will be upgraded next offseason!!!

Bell sucks bad. Johnson is down to 3.5 ypc behind a good OL. not sure he will get to help much in daytwa.

So, they basically were trying to get Rudi and Willie to take pay cuts. Here’s a clue Mike(I’m just giving it to you so you won’t have to buy it), good players take pay cuts to play for Super Bowl contending teams. If you want them to play in Cincy, you have to pay them ALOT more.

So Cincy’s O-Line is what passes for a good one these days? Really? Poor guys… I’ll be shocked if Carson Palmer can walk by the time he’s 40.
Good move for Detroit. This is a very Millen thing to do… way too many Johnsons on the field limping to the finish line.

Nuf obviously pays attention. Very nice work.
Also, 24K is back- Kevin Smith will be wearing #24 on sunday
Hated to see our boy Blue get cut. This is a game of pass coverage, though- so the move was not a shock.

So, the Lions are going to have their Johnsons out all over the field on Sunday? Sounds like a case of indecent exposure to me. Hopefully, that won’t be the case for their secondary, at least.
