Cornerback Dominique Foxworth was selected by the Broncos in round three of the 2005 draft. Three seasons into his career, the team is in the process of trading him.
According to Bill Williamson of ESPN.com, Foxworth has been informed that the Broncos are shopping him.
“They didn’t have to give me a warning,” Foxworth said. “They are being classy about it. I’m not upset about it at all.”
If/when Foxworth is gone, the backups to Champ Bailey and Dre’ Bly will be Karl Paymah and rookie Jack Williams, a fourth-round draft pick.
Foxworth has one year remaining on his rookie contract. He’s due to earn $927,000 in base salary this season.

More activity just before the regular season this year than in quite a while for all the teams. Wonder what the landscape of the teams will look like after the next 7 days?

The Browns and Patriots are the top two teams I can think of that could use a boost in the secondary. Eugene Wilson might be employed by one of those teams in the near future too.

Well the lions and the broncos were trading buddys a year ago with the whole bell and foster for bly deal. detroit could always use some help in their secondary with no real pass rush. maybe these two teams get together again and make a deal…hold on, foxworth did play for the bucs too right? no? oh, nevermind.

Foxworth is a class act. It’ll be a shame for the Broncos to lose him, but he might be able to get more playing time on a team that doesn’t have Champ Bailey and Dre Bly.
