The Chicago Bears haven’t released their full 53-man roster, but they have decided to keep their third-string quarterback, for now anyway.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that undrafted free agent quarterback Caleb Hanie of Colorado State has made the 53-man roster. Biggs suggests, however, that if Chris Simms doesn’t make the Buccaneers’ 53-man roster, the Bears could add Simms and cut Hanie.

Bears players who have been released include tight end Marcus Stone, cornerback Trey Brown, receiver Brandon Rideau, defensive ends Ervin Baldwin and Joe Clermond, offensive lineman Anthony Oakley, tight end Fontel Mines and linebacker Joey LaRocque.

UPDATE: Biggs now reports that the final roster is known.
