The Green Bay Packers announced today that they have released 19 players and placed three on injured reserve, and they’re now down to the mandated limit of 53.
The biggest names on the cut list are a pair of running backs, Noah “McGyver” Herron and Vernand Morency.
Also released today were wide receiver Jake Allen, cornerback Scorpio Babers, defensive tackle Conrad Bolston, center Brennen Carvalho, safety Tyrone Culver, linebacker Spencer Havner, tight end Joey Haynos, guard Ryan Keenan, linebacker Danny Lansanah, defensive tackle Alfred Malone, defensive tackle Daniel Muir, cornerback Joe Porter, wide receiver Johnny Quinn, wide receiver Taj Smith, wide receiver Brett Swain, tackle Orrin Thompson and fullback Corey White.
Defensive tackle Rodney Allen, center Junius Coston and long snapper J.J. Jansen were placed on injured reserve. Another long snapper who was with the Packers in camp, Thomas Gafford, was waived by the Bears and will likely be brought to Green Bay to take Jansen’s place.

Glad they kept all three QBs. They’re all going to be very good someday.

How in the hell did they not cut Jarrett Bush? That guy has got to be the worst player in history.

Bush was kept because he can also play safety (where maybe he won’t struggle as much having to play man-to-man coverage). 3 DT’s is awfully few - my guess is we’ll be adding one of those, along with a LS, and possibly losing one of the backup LB’s and/or the 4th safety (Peprah). Of course, they might be planning on playing Cullen Jenkins and/or Mike Montgomery inside on the DL…

Packers still need another DT, veteran QB, long snapper, and another center.
Wells and KGB’s injuries are going to linger
Tauscher and Clifton aren’t going to play 16 games.
A DT will be lost for the season, it always happens.
The rookie QB’s have promise but aren’t ready to start. Brohm is lucky he was in a good program, if he is the #2 we are in trouble.
Solid at RB and WR. QB remains to be seen. Everything is dependent on the solidarity of the O-line. Give Rodgers 3 seconds and pop some holes for Grant and they’ll be fine.
Very secure at LB, okay at CB, S looks good (could be the big suprise this year), but D-line, very thin.
Special Teams are going to be INSANE!

grant must not be in that bad of shape, other wise we would not just roll with jackson and lumpkin against MN. running the ball is our key to success this year.
