Just as the “Days Without An Arrest Meter” got back to double digits, it’s back to zero.
Panthers defensive back Ricardo Colclough was arrested Saturday morning for DUI.
The timing couldn’t have been worse, since the roster cuts are coming later today.
He’s the second Panther to be arrested for DUI this year, joining receiver Dwayne Jarrett.

Just a thought, but the Panthers do not usually put up with off field issues (see Todd S. and J. Cooper)…the exception is obviously if they drafted the guy in the first 3 rounds (see D. Jarrett and T. Davis).
Ricardo hasn’t been amazing in the return game so far, and that was a primary reason in signing him this off-season. Why not go ahead and release him and bring back Manning Jr. as your 4th DB. Or bring on a potential release of another team that could play some DB and work as a return man…

Think of it as DUI versus Assault.
The team resolved the assault
without felony charges.
DUI is a misdemeanor.

I’m disappointed to hear this. He was getting praise from Fox and was looking like he might sneak in and quietly make the roster.
deaconsport3 - I don’t believe Thomas Davis has been in trouble, hes just dumb- guy couldn’t learn the playbook. However theirs been guys like *gulp* carruth but we don’t talk about him around here.
I agree with these other guys though. How can Smith be suspended for 2 games and these DUI guys come out somewhat scot free. You can do a lot more damage driving around drunk than you can punching someone in the nose…

Thomas Davis had an off field issue either his rookie or sophomore season in which his dog attacked someone. The issue was resolved in a settlement. He had to meet with Richardson as well to receive guidance/reprimand/punishment. Panthers kept this one on dl and it was cleared from news within about a week of it happening. I just remember it because I was stoked to draft Davis and was like oh crap please no off field issues for a future star. It wasn’t something where he would have gotten suspended probably but nonetheless the Panthers took care of it right away and lots of details never made news.
Wondering what they will do with Ricardo still?
