The Texans chose to make a large selection of their roster removals yesterday, leaving the team just one spot over the roster maximum today.

With running back Chris Brown’s trip to the injured reserve list, the Texans’ roster is set…for now.

Brown has battled back problems all through camp, playing in only the second game. This preseason is a microcosm of his career, as well, as Brown hasn’t played a 16-game season yet, and the sixth-year back has missed 15 games in the last two years.

In fact, this might be the end of the line for Brown, as Adam Schefter reports that the injury is a herniated disc and that it could be career threatening.

Ahman Green, who could have potentially been released, lives to see another day. He, Chris Taylor, and Steve Slaton are going to support the team’s run game, for as long as the similarly injury-prone Green can stay healthy.
