In a move that surprises no one, the quarterback-happy Buccaneers kept four of them on their 53-man roster.
Pewter Report has the list of final cuts, and it includes only one quarterback — Chris Simms.
Making the team are Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, and Josh Johnson.
Released were DE Charles Bennett, G Phil Bogle, DT Chris Bradwell, DE Patrick Chukwurah, WR Brian Clark, T Chris Clark, RB Kenneth Darby, OL Chris Denman, TE Daniel Fells, CB Marcus Hamilton, CB Darrell Hunter, G Brian Johnson, WR Chad Lucas, DT Dre Moore, LB Ryan Nece, T Dennis Roland, QB Chris Simms, RB Clifton Smith, WR Micheal Spurlock, and FB Carl Stewart.
Receiver Cortez Hankton was placed on injured reserve, and tight end Jerramy Stevens doesn’t count against the 53-man roster during his two-game suspension.

Or once Stevens comes back after his 2 game suspension. Will depend on the state of QBs around the league. Hold onto him long enough and nobody will grab him in mid-season…

Hopefully Stevens doesn’t rape anyone while he’s on suspension. Honestly, I can’t believe this guy is allowed to play professional football.

I just can’t see how Gruden can devote three roster spots to guys who won’t see the field (if TB is lucky enough) … Gruden sure must feel awful good with his depth at every other position and/or special teams coverage units … I dunno …

You’ve got to wonder about Greise, The Bears kept Rex and got rid of Brian Greise. Gruden took Greise because he knows knows the offense, not because he’s a great QB. Some coach’s coach a system, some coach the talent they have ! Here’s hoping the O-line is great and Garcia plays the whole season ! Then maybe we could stop with the 3 yard passes !

NR4 - You’ll have to be more specific; Stevens was accused of rape multiple times while he was in college. Also, because this happened before he was in the NFL it’s ok? Your logic is flawed, at best.
I could also point out that Stevens shouldn’t be in the NFL because of his multiple DUIs. His most recent one was in 2007. Is this current enough for you?
