Browns receiver Braylon Edwards says that he’s back to 100 percent after an incident of horseplay with Donte’ Stallworth put a gash in Edwards’ foot earlier this month.

Donte’ and I were racing and messing around and I got ahead of him,” said Edwards, during an interview on The Jim Rome Show.  “Then he caught up with me and I slowed down thinking it was over with.  He was messing around and just jumped on me, playing around a little bit.”  (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

“When he jumped on me and came down, his cleat gashed into my ankle, so it was just a case of horseplaying going wrong. . . . .  Guys horseplay all the time and don’t get hurt.  It’s no big deal.” ”

Still, this one would have been avoided if only Edwards had been wearing his, you know, shoes.

Edwards now says he’s fine, and that he’ll return to practice on Monday and play on Sunday.

“I have a week to get in some kind of game shape, though, so it shouldn’t be too hard,” Edwards said.

The injury occurred while folks were still buzzing about his impressive one-handed touchdown grab during the preseason opener.  He missed the next three, and the Browns lost all four.
