Just because there’s more regular season games, what makes you so sure they would be ‘meaningful’? Look at last season; there were teams that were out of playoff contention by week 12, and ones that were in by week twelve as well. So now instead of playing 4 more ‘meaningful’ games it could be six? Where’s the logic?

I actually am beginning to like the 16 purely as is. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. 16 is a nice round number (and 18 isn’t …) I don’t know. I just have a gut feeling that the way it is right now works fine.

If they want to squeeze another game out fo the season the only way to do it is add one more game to the schedule and have everyone play at a neutral site. The current scheduling system is absolutely perfect and if they add the extra game it will not upset that system.
