I don’t think Gutierrez’ job is in trouble as much as Cassell’s. I see the Patriots keeping Gutierrez and O’Connell as their back ups and maybe going out to get a veteran.

I think your overly optimistic. In fact, I don’t think if you picked the four worst teams in the league, that a Brady-less Patriots team could compete with them. Maybe if they signed an ancient Testeverde, they could break even… but as constituted, if Brady goes down the Pats could borrow the Jets moniker. Just End The Season.

Why would he be talking about last year? or do you hink he should be talking about this years Superbowl?
If waht the Patriots did last year is so bad, how about the other teams like the Packrs and the Cowboys? They didn’t even get to the last game. Should you be taking a dump on every thread about those teams?

Going to stop being a smartass for a second and make a serious post here. I realize that its impossible to overstate Brady’s importance to this team, so I think its safe to say that the 0-4 preseason record is no reason for great concern. However, from what ive seen, they have really played poorly in other facets of the game. At the end of the day, I think its still a safe bet that they’ll shore up the division pretty easily, but im wondering how strong this yr’s team is really going to be? Im not predicting a doomsday scenario, understand, just wondering if that dont struggle a bit more this yr. Will be very interesting to see how their season unfolds. Any thoughts?

@Mike D - I actually liked your post. It was really insightful and honest which you don’t often see on this site. I think all too often people make too big a deal out of preseason. Sure, if your starter goes down you’re in trouble, but thats every team in the league. Back when Dallas was good, they sucked during preseason. I think the emphasis is less on winning and more on situational play.
