QBs Brooks Bollinger and John David Booty split time in the preseason loss, and coach Brad Childress said, “They were both average. Average is about the worst thing you can say about somebody. Average.”
Booty’s first pass was intercepted, and he said afterward, “That’s just all my fault. It’s something I’ve got to correct. It just kind of gave them the momentum early in the game.”
Bollinger finished 6-of-18 for 62 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
Starting QB Tarvaris Jackson reaffirmed after the game that he will be ready to play in the season opener.
The Vikings’ only touchdown came on a one-yard run by Maurice Hicks.
DE Brian Robison played an impressive game.
Owner Zygi Wilf wasn’t at the game.

Okay, then, to spare their feelings let’s just say they suck.

It doesn’t measure up that Brooks Bollinger and John David Booty are fighting for the backup QB position on a team that’s talented enough to reach the championship.
They should be battling for the No. 3 spot.

what’s that tell you - season ticket holders have to pay full price for preseason games, but owners arent interested enough themselves in the on-field product to show up

BB and JDB are not fighting for the backup QB spot, Gus Ferrote is the back-up QB to TJack. Brooks and Booty are fighting for the #3 spot.
Besides, championships aren’t won generally won with back-up QBs. You think either Indy or New England are championship caliber if Manning or Brady go down?

Zygi Wilf is apparently a smart guy after all. Forget for the moment that he puts the screws to the Viking faithful by making them buy full price tickets for glorified scrimmages, why should he waste his precious time watching in person when he has better things to do, like watching the Giants game.

You said that “it doesn’t measure up that Bollinger and Booty are fighting for a backup QB position.” Then, you said they should be battling for the third spot, which they are.
Why is that your “thought” when it is a fact?

The only thing worthwhile about watching that game was to see that Robison is healthy, and to conclusively determine that the Vikes are screwed if they need to go to their third string quarterback.
