QB Troy Smith missed another game with swollen tonsils.
The absence of Smith and the injury to Kyle Boller suggests that QB Joe Flacco will be the starter.
LT Jared Gaither and RT Adam Terry started for the first time this preseason.
“We are starting to build the kind of chemistry that we need,” Gaither said. “We had a good week of practice this week, and I think we will continue to come together the way we’re supposed to.”

Wow, Troy Smith is gonna let a little tonsil infection stop him from being a starting NFL QB? He must have read the book “Overcoming Adversity and Me. The Matt Leinart Story.” written by Matt Leinart and Todd Marinovich….forward by Ryan Leaf.

Garyofferdahl: Reports are that the guy’s fever shot back up to about 105. He’s lost 13 pounds in less than a week due to dehydration and inability to keep any food down. He’s in the hospital for at least the next 2 days getting IV fluids to try to fight the infection. Do a little research before throwing out crap like Ryan Leaf/Todd Marinovich comparisons..
