If we’re going to get these done by next Thursday night, we’d better start doing two per day.

And we are up to the challenge, especially since we’re willing to mail it in.  (Or is it “phone it in”?)

No. 16 on our list is the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans made the playoffs in 2007, but we expect a correction.  For one thing, Vince Young has looked mediocre during the preseason, and there’s good reason to keep an eye on that quad muscle he injured a year ago.

Then there’s the problem of his passing abilities, or lack thereof.  Former offensive coordinator Norm Chow took the fall for Uncle Rico’s struggles, but there’s no reason to believe that new offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger will turn things around quickly.

The Titans are stacked at running back, which is good, but thin at receiver, which is not good.

The defense is strong, but not good enough to carry an offense that isn’t able to produce.

And despite having plenty of cap space, they didn’t do enough in the offseason to close the gap with the Colts and Jaguars.  Meanwhile, the Texans are sneaking up on them.

So it could be a long year for the Titans, and the end result of the 2008 season could be a conclusion that each of the “Big Three” from the 2006 draft — Young, Matt Leinart, and Reggie Bush — are busts.
