With Rams running back Steven Jackson finally ending his lengthy holdout, the only non-rookie who’s still not with his team is Bills left tackle Jason Peters.
Per the Buffalo News, the impasse lingers, with no breakthroughs on the horizon.
Peters already owes the team more than $432,000 in fines. If he continues his holdout into the season, he’ll lose more than $190,000 per week in game checks.
But now that agent Eugene Parker has gotten a deal done for Jackson, perhaps Parker will turn his attention to the Peters situation.
For more on the situation, here’s a little PFTV.

Small market teams do a cannonball off the high dive and it sounds like a trickle in the media.

Has he outperformed his contract? Yes. But if he keeps refusing to report, then no new big money deal should come his way. If he came to camp a new contract would be in the works, if not already done.

Why do these teams keep acting like they’re actually going to charge these players the fine money? Has any team ever done that to a perceived “superstar”? The players/agents have been playing teams for years…

Russ Brandon the Bills GM has repeatedly stated that they will not negotiate with a player that does not report. I live in Rochester and have heard this from the very beginning of camp. Whether this a ploy to get him in camp, I don’t know. But the longer this goes on it only hurts Peters. The Bills have been calling his bluff.
