Die Hard Bears fan here…
…all I want to say is that I’m tired of hearing the NFC North getting talked trash on in the NFC and in the NFL for that matter.
Which division did the last two NFC Champions come from? …exactly.
Seems like every year it’s supposed to The Cowboys or The Seahawks or The Panthers but some how they never make it…
…I promise you, the NFC North is tougher than everybody is currently giving them.
BEAR DOWN!!!

Well, yet again the NFC is getting talked trash on…
…hasn’t the NFC North had a team in the Conference Finals the past two years with ONE of them going to the Super Bowl?!?!
Maybe it’s time to stop hating on the NFC North!

Man, quit douching on the Leo’s, ya’ll might not know this, but they are fast on deense, and CJ is unstoppable…
Better than the Bears (swept you guys last year, not like yer better now!) better than the Packers, 10-6, wil?dcard winner, you heard it here first…
What you know something I don’t, the Lions upgrade all over the place, and because they’re they Lions you expect them to be worse than last year? Take a look at the schedule, if last years squad was 7-9 with tht brutal schedule, how can they be worse with a MUCH EASIER sate of games?
Beware Chicago, we gonna sweep y?ou again, and FYI: Packer backers, we gonna sweep you too!
Lions in 08! Who you got to cover CJ? Thats right NO ONE can cover CJ!!!!

Wow!
The Packers may be good, but we don’t know what to expect from Aaron Rogers.
The Vikings could win the division, but because they didn’t live up to expectations in the past, maybe they won’t.
There are two other teams.
Anythings else I miss from this in-depth analysis?

Agree with jyernberg. HUGE fan of this site, but I can’t believe you guys wasted your time, and now mine, by making a preview like that. 2 minutes to break down the NFC North and the answer to the 2nd question was already answered in Florio’s first response. Not to mention talking about suits for a quarter of it. I may know less now about the division than I did 5 minutes ago. Ridiculous.
By the way, GO VIKES!

Yeah, and the Raiders are going to win the AFC West. Vikings own the NFC North this year, they only way the Packers even finish .500 is with some blockbuster trade to pick up a Quarterback and Running Back. The only reason Ryan Grant did what he did last year is thanks to Mr. Favre.
Lets get serious. I should be more of a debate on if Minnesota will be contending for a bye in the 1st round of the playoffs. Packers have a few rebuilding years ahead of them. The only team in the North that can try to compete with the Vikings is the Lions, just because of their receiving corps.
For experts, you really didn’t do enough research no the NFC North to begin to talk about the “in’s and out’s” of it’s teams. Better luck next time.

If they pull off a blockbuster trade, it would be for an OL. Pretty sure AR(barring injury) will be the man in GB for a few years. I mean, they did spit in a legends face so AR could have the job……

The stats would say that the NFC North is not all that bad. Vs. the AFC teams, combined record of 12 & 5, vs. all teams outside the division 23 & 17. Of course the Pack was primarily responsible for that record, but the Vikes and the Bears split at 5 & 5, only the (sob) Lions had a losing record at 4 & 6. But even they were 3 & 1 against the AFC teams.

Here’s my breakdown
Bears- Good D but health concerns of aging stars. (Brown, Urlacher) Not to mention there is very little offense to help keep them fresh.
Lions- Need running game to go with great passing game. If CJ can stay fresh, Williams and he will give secondaries fits. Defense isn’t going to win them the games, but they aren’t horrible. This team needs to score 30 pts a game, and has the firepower to do so.
Vikings- Solid O-line, a superstar running back, best back-up RB in the leauge. Solid D-line that will eat QB’s alive if they aren’t schemed for. TJack is what he is, and if he turns to be anything more than a 2nd rate Randall Cunningham, I’d be suprised. That said after waching many Vikings games over the past 2 years, Childress is a horrible head coach. Absolutely terrible with team relations and play calling. Maybe they Vikes should open up their wallet and actually pay a QB and a good coach. Just sayin…..
Packers- A Paper Mansion. Looks good from the outside, but once your in the house…..man. Injuries are going to eat this team alive. If QB, C, or OT, goes down, it’s going to get ugly. Should have a solid D if they can get healthy. No comment on the offense other than: We’ll see. 10 starters back usually is a good thing. I think if Rodgers has time he’ll pick you apart, but he can’t force throws like Favre could and is HORRIBLE when facing a rush. Either a great year, or a really long one.

so the North preview was 75% Aaron Rogers, 10% rest of the Packers, 10% Vikings, 4% about Florio’s awful jacket, and 1% about the Bears and Lions combined. Interesting.

Lets face facts here: With the loss of Brett Favre, the NFC North did become a much weaker division. No one know what Aaron is gonna do, but so far he’s looked OK at best.
Tavaris Jackson is still an unproven. He shows flashes of brilliance and then takes it all back. Plus he’s injury prone. Sorry, but a quarterback trying to take out 3 linebackers doesn’t show much football intelligence…
The Bears, well.. I dunno. Their defense has been traditionally good, but their offense is again going to leave much to be desired. Rex didn’t take them to the Superbowl, their defense did. Orton didn’t take them to the playoffs, their defense did. Anyone noticing a theme here?
That leaves the Lions who currently have the best and only proven QB in the division. If they can get their shit straight on defense, I think they have the better shot at winning the division.

A pretty lame-a$$ analysis. T-Bone’s pretty accurate. I’d rank them as follows:
1. Pack — Unsettled O-line, inexperienced QB, questionable depth at D-tackle, freelancing safeties. However, the team is deep and well coached, so you have to give them the nod.
2. Vikes — Thin D-line depth, questionable QB, overall injury issues, thin at WR, and a killer first half schedule. Yet, strong O-line and D-line, great RB’s and strong LB’s. I may be a Vikes fan, but until they beat the Pack, winning the offseason doesn’t mean squat.
3. Tiggers — Weak on the O-line, wierd choice for the O-coordinator, questions all over the D (Dwight Smith? come on, all he did last year was get busted once for getting a BJ in a parking ramp stairwell and a second time for smoking dope in his car while double parked in front of a strip club). But, Kitna’s the best QB in the division, the WR’s are good, and the schedule is easier, so if the D comes through at all they will suprise.
4. Bears — Orton was serviceable when the bears had a number one D. That D is now 2 years older and more damaged. Moreover, that was when they had a least some semblance of an O-line, running game and receivers — Tom Brady would get his butt kicked with that offense. The only way this team has a chance is if the D reverts to 2006 form and scores/creates field position. That’s unlikely based on what we saw last year.

I hear you Boris, but if I picked T-Jack, I’d be called a homer. T-Jack has more mobility (hopefully still does given the MCL sprain), but I wonder how effective Kitna would be in comparison to T-Jack in the Vikes’ offense and better O-line this year given his experience and accuracy. T-Jack has read the field well this pre season, and his pass yardage isn’t based on decieving dump-off crap like the Pack’s Rogers, but his downfield accuracy could be better.

Floundering in a sea of medeocrity! Hahhaha, that was great.
C’mon, go out on a limb and pick the Bears to win the division.. Saying hmmmm, Pack should win, but they might slip back, Minn might be good, but they don’t come thru … Lions stink. All of that is not hard to say. Make a bold prediction and stick with it.
Chicago Bears Forever.

As much as I hate to say this, I think either the Lions or Vikings will win it this year. The Lions have the better, more experienced and proven QB while the Vikings certainly have the better Defense.
Unfortunately I just don’t think the Pack is gonna have it this year. I’m really hoping I’m wrong, but I think we’re a couple of years away yet, and that’s only if Aaron Rodgers improves.. If he goes down the toilet, we’re gonna be a lot further away.
