Peyton Manning has denied a report out of Indy that he was secretly photographed wearing a knee brace on his right knee during Monday night’s media-isn’t-welcome “PeyBack Bowl” event.
The report was confusing, given that Manning’s recent surgery occurred on his left knee, not his right one.
Regardless, Manning denies wearing a brace on either knee.
“I don’t wear a knee brace,” Manning said.
“This is just to kind of stop some of the whining going on,” Manning said. “I just didn’t want to get into these daily progress reports. I’ve done nothing but rehab. Looks like we’re already in the rumor mill.”
Regardless, the rumor mill still churns. We’re now told that Manning has been spotted by a Colts player “limping around” recently.
Indeed, video of Manning making a rare appearance at Colts practice seems to show Manning moving gingerly on his left leg, five weeks and a day after surgery — and two weeks and five days from the first game of the regular season.

I wish you’d either stop with the sensationalism or put your money where your mouth is with these things.
You arent whining like a girl on the rag over brady or anderson or jeff garcia or anyone else.
Its been clear to everyone that reads your site that you have a clear dislike for Manning, Polian, and perhaps the Colts in general.
Btw, the main reason I come to your site is because I love hearing ‘what sources say’ to you. You have no responsbility, no accountability. Sources say a Colts player has seen Manning limping around!
Sources say I’ve seen you dressing up in women’s clothing prancing around.

Actually, Manning seemed to move rather casually. He even used his “hurt” knee to support his weight while standing.
Florio, you’re reaching.

Thanks, Nideak. There it is again. “Florio criticized/questioned my favorite team/player. He obviously hates them/him”. If Peyton Manning misses a game, it will be a big deal. A lot of people (believe it or not) are interested in getting a clear picture of his status. Myself and all the other Bears fans, for example, are sure hoping his knee is worse than advertised. Not to mention the fact that the Colts set themselves up for this kind of scrutiny with their handling of Marvin Harrison a year ago. I wish nervous Colts fans would quit with the “please stop talking about Manning’s knee” routine and just accept the rightful criticism.

We’re not bothered about it being reported, we’re just bothered about all of the lies and hearsay that is getting reported.
How would you like it if [Insert your favourite QB here] had things like “He’s not gona make it for the regular season,” “Your franchise is lying” constantly spouted off when you KNOW for a fact that he will be there.

Here’s a sincere wish for Manning to return to full strength for the start of the season from a Patriots fan. I always hate to see any team (with the possible exception of the Jets) suffer from the bad luck of injuries, especially to their premier players.
As a Patriots fan I prefer to watch the Patriots beat teams while they’re at full strength. Otherwise you hear nothing but fans whinning about how, if only their teams were healthy, they’d beat the Patriots 9 out of 10 times or other BS like that.
Of course the Patriots always have more than their fair share of injuries too, including a QB with an injured foot in the Super Bowl, but neither the Patriots organization or their fans will accept that as an excuse.

Nideak : Is there such a person who likes Polian??? He is an evil, malious, manipulative bully. He has choices and HE makes his daily decisions on how to push the limits. Who when he reads this will turning red, red red.
Also if it wasn’t for Florio webite, there would not be as much accountibility in the NFL. Because he does let “sources” speak. It is a rumor mill, you can believe it or not. (You are the whiner)

How about some possible irony -
Dan Marino did not start the first game played at Joe Robbie
Stadium.
Peyton Manning (who broke D.M. single touchdown record)
might not start the first game in the Colts new stadium?

Gotta admit, I have yet to hear ONE person who knows Polian who ‘really’ likes him, nor do they trust him.
I keep track of many ‘rumors’from this website, and more often than not, they are right on.
Hope Peyton’s knee is better than I think. (either right, left or both!)

We all have fantasy drafts coming up in the next week or so!
Can we get just a modicum of in depth reporting out of the Indy rags? Do they not realize that the vast majority of fan interest in the NFL has to do with gambling interests, whether it be fantasy or Vegas lines? Do we really want to have inside information available only to a select few? That is about the only way that the NFL can lose it’s amazing popularity…well, that and having all of the games broadcast by a satellite company that at most 40% of the country can get due to southwestern exposure and zoning issues (not that I am bitter or anything).

What are the odds in Vegas that he will be ready for the opener? Even if his knee is ready, will he be? Will he be able to get enough practice time in?
I don’t like Manning, but he should not rush this. One good hit before that knee is ready and he could be out for quite some time. I don’t think it will affect him too much. He doesn’t use his legs as much as a lot of QBs for throwing. He seems to be mostly upper body rather than a full body throw. Nothing wrong with that (as his talent shows), just a different method of throwing the ball. It has its advantages and disadvantages. I don’t think it will hurt his accuracy as much. He should just make sure his knee is ready and not push it. He doesn’t want to spend the backside of his career as an injury plagued player.
