Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dallas Cowboys have expressed interest in Dolphins quarterback John Beck.
Beck, a second-round pick a year ago, is likely the odd man odd after the arrival of Chad Pennington, who was cut by the Jets a day after Brett Favre was acquired via trade.
Neither Beck nor Josh McCown played in the team’s most recent preseason game, a win over Jacksonville.
Per Salguero, the Cowboys are willing to give up a low-round pick for the former BYU quarterback.

Good… I would take a pack of cigarettes for Beck at this point. That’s not a knock on him, it’s just that he’ll never play for the Dolphins.

I think they’re better off with Simms. At least he’s proven he can win game sin the NFL… Beck really struggled as a rookie last season, (then again what Dolphin didn’t?) and having him learn the Cowboys offense would mean he would be learning his 3rd offense in less than 2 seasons, a pretty daunting task considering he had never mastered any of them nor has he adjusted to the speed of the NFL.

Seems like he would be a good value pick up for the Bears or the Vikes. I’m sure he has no interest in going to another team where he has no shot to start.

What an odd marriage this is turning out to be. Its like a swap meet. But hey, sharing is caring.
Go Dallas Dolphins! or is that the Miami Cowboys?

that would actually be a great trade for both parties!!! Beck was not picked by Parcells so he’ll never get to play for the Fins, & Parcells loves those draft picks!!! GO FINS!!!

Maybe…Just Maybe….The CowGirls are looking for a QB who doesn’t think a passer rating in the playoffs with a team with home field advantage and 13 pro bowlers….Should equal his golf score……67 is a damn good golf score…But a passer rating?

If Romo doesn’t work out, he would be a nice option…..

the cowboys would be wise to just wait and pick up Beck when he’s a FA and sign him for no draft picks at a lower contract…. Beck will be cut anyway. and yes, i’m a dolphins fan.
but come on….

I wouldn’t worry too much about Romo not working out, F2B. They do need somebody with a bit more upside than Brad Johnson backing him up though.

I think Beck would be perfect for the ‘Boys. In fact, his hit song says it all: “I’m a loser, baby…” Oh wait a minute, that was some other Beck. I that Beck actually could read defenses better than the Fins’ Beck. Think of the HUGE potential belly laughs if Dallas has to go to a backup like Johnson or Beck. That’s what I have in mind for a “wow” factor.

It would be great for the Dolphins if they get even a 7th rounder for a guy who will certainly be a cut casualty on Aug 31st. If Dallas goes for it they are bat$#it crazy.
