As expected, Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall has filed an appeal of his suspension for violation of the Personal Conduct Policy.

The league suspended Marshall three games based on a variety of run-ins with the law.  The suspension can be reduced to two games if he gets counseling — and if he quits leaving McDonald’s bags on the floor.

Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Commissioner has the authority to impose the penalty, and jurisdiction over the appeal.  So unless the Commissioner intends to create the appearance of wishy-washiness, a reversal of the decision is unlikely.

Marshall’s better move would be to comply with the suspension, do what he has to do to knock it down from three to two games, and avoid the kind of situations that got him into this mess in the first place.
