There hasn’t been much news regarding the status of the sliced and diced foot of Browns receiver Braylon Edwards.
And, given the proliferation of staph infections among members of the team, no news really is good news.
Still, Edwards will miss the second and third preseason games due to the injury. Since starters usually play sparingly in the preseason finale, there’s a good chance Edwards won’t return to action until the regular-season opener against the Cowboys.
It remains to be seen whether Edwards’ absence impacts his ability to connect with quarterback Derek Anderson once the real games start.
Steve Sanders and Travis Wilson are vying to start in Edwards’ place.

I hope Edwards is ready to go by week 2–I want to see the Steelers and Browns 100% healthy for that one. No Edwards for Cleveland’s offense would be like no Polamalu for the Steelers D. Heal up, Braylon.

Steve Sanders? What, Brendan and Dylan weren’t available?

Thank God he’s going to miss two preseason games. This minimizes the chances of injury. Who gives a damn about the preseason. To me I view this as a positive.

Edwards and Anderson are perfectly in synch. A couple games off isn’t going to hurt him and it’s mostly as a precaution. He could play tomorrow if he, and the team, wanted him to.

You’re 100% correct DM… DA and B-Easy had a great rapport last year, and things won’t change this year. Once Anderson gets the short throws down and learns to throw the ball away instead of forcing it into coverage, he will become a premier QB in this league. Brady who?
