When the Miami Dolphins played the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday night, quarterback Chad Pennington got the start, and Chad Henne relieved him.
But neither of the other two guys — Josh McCown and John Beck — played.
The move suggests to us that the Fins already know which of the two is staying and which is going. Otherwise, they surely would have given both of them some reps in order to help make the decision.
It’s believed that Beck will be traded or cut, and that McCown will stay, primarily since McCown was brought in by the current regime, and Beck was drafted by the last one.

Simple:
McCown has had six years to show something. He hasn’t.
Beck has had one.
McCown has no more potential. Beck has shown improvement in the last two weeks and is at leas t as good as McCown as of right now.
So, Beck is as good as McCown right now and has potential to improve markedly (and has a nicer long ball).
Conclusion: Drop McCown.
And don’t get me started on that butterfingered, lazy route runner Wilford who was paid too much. If either McCown or Wilford make this roster it is because Parcells’ ego is too big to admit the mistake. I don’t think he’ll let ego get in the way as winning is much more gratifying (not to mention ego boosting).

cut beck, this old guy aint a qb of the future, he’s almost 30 years old, cam cameron was a fool for wasting a 2nd orund pick, on a guy that will almost be 30 years old, plus once he learns how to be a starter he will be over 30 and his career will be over. Also the dolphins were foolish to draft beck so high, because they thought the eagles would draft him, which is foolish, why would the eagles draft beck, when mcnabb is almost the same age, this jsut proves to show how retarded the former dolphins regime was.

Beck should stay but that signing bonus of 2.5 mil might keep McCown breathing.

Beck is 26, turning 27 later this month. I don’t think his age is the issue. The fact that he holds on to the ball too long, doesn’t have a very good pocket presence and tends to lock onto his primary receiver … those are the things that will get him cut.
It’s absolutely amazing how much better the ‘phins receivers look with Pennington under center. With the young O line coming together, a great tandem RB situation and a young playmaker in Ginn Jr. (not to mention his family) this team could surprise everyone this year and win maybe 5 games. Baby steps …

oh yes that dolphins RB tandem of Cheech & Chong will have such a great year, ronnie brown was overrated, he was just a backup at auburn and cant handle a starting job withotu getting hurt, and chong ricky williams just wants to get paid, he dotn care about football, he needs the money to get his holistic medicine license.
