DE Shaun Ellis has been sidelined for more than a week with a broken hand but isn’t in jeopardy of missing the regular season opener.
CB David Barrett agreed to cut his base salary from $3.6million to $2.4 million.
Said QB Brett Favre, “I hate to study and, at times, I hate to practice, but I love to play.”
“I never guarantee anything,” Favre said, “but I’ll play my butt off.”
In the evening practice, Favre threw 15 passes in 11-on-11 drills.
Favre threw an interception and another ball that should have been picked.
Even if he never plays in the Jets’ new stadium, Favre may help sell personal seat licenses for it.
Said WR Jerricho Cotchery, “Some of the throws he makes out there, it’s kind of crazy.”
Cotchery compares Favre to Michael Jordan.
Favre mentioned second-year WR Chansi Stuckey as a receiver he wants to build chemistry with.
WR Laveranues Coles appeared to tweak one of his legs at the end of the morning practice and sat out the afternoon session.
Coles told the Jets public relations staff that the subject of Favre replacing Chad Pennington was “too sensitive” for him to address.

Maybe if HE studied and practiced a bit more he would know the defensive coverages and not by Mr INT.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP)—Brett Favre dropped back, looked downfield and launched a long spiral about 5 yards past his intended receiver. A few plays later, the Jets quarterback short-hopped a toss that thumped into the grass.
“I felt 38 today,” Favre said Wednesday after New York’s morning practice. “I’m not going to lie to you.”
Favre fired a few duds in his fifth practice since joining the Jets, saying his rocket right arm is a bit tired.
“My arm’s kind of dragging a little bit today,” Favre said. “It’s not really sore, but just fatigued. To be honest with you, I’m surprised that, I don’t want to say I feel good, that I’ve been able to make it through every practice so far.”
“I didn’t throw the ball that well this morning, underthrew some throws,” Favre said. “No pain, but I’m 38 years old. It’s going to be fatigued a little bit.”

Memo to Coles: Grow up. Business is business and you’re not always going to get to play with your buddies all the time. Sheesh.

Laveranues oh oh you have insulted the Lord high muckity muck Bretteney off with your career. How many times will he even throw to you? When he does it will probably leave you wide open for a vicious hit.Bretteney is a vindictive little whiner and you made practice a little harder for him.Kneel at the Bretteney altar and never have a “private” conversation with him for it shalt go public.Really anyway the only thing Bretteney hears when you talk to him is Blah Blah Blah you are great Blah Blah Blah you da man Blah Blah Blah just make up anything you want and leak it to ESPN
Green Bay is lucky to have gotten rid of this schmuck because obviously he has taken too many blows to the head
