There’s a report that the NFL likely will be suspending Vikings left tackle Bryant McKinnie four games for violation of the Personal Conduct Policy.

The news comes from Sirius NFL Radio, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

But NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told us earlier this afternoon that any such report is premature.  “I have no info on that,” Aiello said via e-mail.  “We have made no such announcement.”  (An unnamed NFL spokesman told the Star-Tribune that the Sirius report is “speculation.”)

We won’t be surprised at all if McKinnie ultimately gets a four-game suspension.  Weeks ago, we heard rumblings that the team was planning to spend the offseason and training camp getting McKinnie’s likely replacement, Artis Hicks, ready to play.

McKinnie is in hot water with the league due to a February 2008 incident during which he (allegedly) whacked a bouncer in the head with a pole.  Though McKinnie has not yet been tried, his 2005 public dalliance with Constance Lingis of the Lake Minnetonka Lingises (we rarely use a line twice but we had to make an exception here) makes this his second offense.  He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, and was fined a game check by the league.
