QB Brian Griese led Tampa Bay on a 19-play, 78-yard drive culminating in a three-yard touchdown pass to Brian Clark to end the first half of the Bucs’ win over the Dolphins.

Said QB Chris Simms of the way coach Jon Gruden treated him, “Yes, he actually gave me a hug. He told me he was proud of me, and he gave me a hug and I gave him a little hug back.”

Added Simms, “At this time last year, I was wondering if I was ever going to be right again, and whether I’d ever be able to make the throws I needed to make. It was a helpless feeling. It’s way better now.”

Simms played well, but these are probably his last few weeks as a Buc.

Said Gruden, “I was pleased with all four quarterbacks.”

WR Michael Clayton dropped QB Luke McCown’s best pass of the night.

RB Michael Bennett had 74 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Dan Buenning played extensively at center.

Undrafted rookie Clifton Smith had a 30-yard punt return.

Ryan Sims started at defensive tackle in place of the injured Jovan Haye.
