The woman who accused Lions defensive back Kalvin Pearson of assaulting her is unhappy that charges have been dropped against him.

It’s not what I wanted,” the woman told The Oakland Press. “It’s basically [bull]. He has money and he has lawyers. He’s doing what he has to do to keep his job.”

In April Pearson was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant female and domestic battery by strangulation, both felonies, after the woman told police he attacked her. But yesterday those charges were dropped. Pearson still faces a misdemeanor count of obstructing or opposing an officer without violence.

Told of the woman’s comments, Pearson said, “Well, I got no response to that. People are going to say what they want to say, but I know the truth and hope it prevails. I’ll talk to my lawyer and hope the truth prevails. That’s about it.”

Pearson signed a three-year, $3.5 million contract with the Lions in March.
