I don't care about taking flack about this but this guy needs to quit his crying.

I am Sorry FARVE FANS but he RETIRED and then he told the front office he had the itch to play and once the guys were about to fly out and welcome him back, he told them SORRY I'M RETIRED AGAIN.
THIS HAS BEEN NOTED, but it gets lost in translation.

The Packers asked him if he wanted to go to the BUCS or the JETS he said NO!

The Packers offered him 20 mil to sit down and hang out with his FAMILY and he said NO!

The Packers let him back in and say he can compete for the job and now he is saying no again.

I used to love brett farve. I am not one of the schmucks who think he is the greatest qb to ever play but the guy was sure prolly the most entertaining. Like Seriously... He owns all the major records including interceptions. Most of all his main allure was that he came across as a humble guy. Well with all the press of late i don't think that anymore. I do believe he was contacted by the vikings to play and he figured their d is good enough to get them in the playoffs and the running back is good enough to make them a legit contender. While the packers are a legit contender as well but he could really stick it to ted thompson if he was on the vikings. Trouble for him though is Brad Childress is Andy Reid LITE. Being a dedicated eagle fan i can tell you this. Theres a snowballs chance in hell of childress giving up his first pick in 2009 for a 38 year old qb. Especialy considering that he just gave up a kings ransom, which was justified, for Jared Allen. Heres the difference also, ALLEN IS 25 and the best pass rusher in the league.

Ted Thompson should man up and send him to the worst place for any player to go......OAKLAND. We all know al davis is senile enough to sell the farm on an old guy. Look at the deal he gave Javon walker. Javon walker is totally messed up in the head and he hasn't been healthy for awhile. Not to mention farve would be FAR FAR AWAY and he would be never heard from again.

A sidenote.... Any minnesota fan who wants bret farve should re think that idea since the man is notorious for having horrendous days in the metrodome.

betting favre wouldnt compete with anyone, or adjust a damn thing, thus forcing mccarthy's hand.

i see a lot of boners complain about the packers leaking, but the leaks seem pretty one-sided and designed to make the packers look bad.

Yeah fatboy McCarthy you got your QB, so just release Brett. Let him go, you got your guy! Oh, yeah and TT you need to be fired. Packers won't be going to playoffs this year without the gunslinger and we will be blaming you!

Gee, I took them at their word that it was an open competition. How shocking that they say one thing publicly, only to be working behind the scenes to do the opposite.

So the solution seems obvious...trade Farve to whatever team you want with a conditional pick. If Farve doesn't show up to camp, then the Packers get nothing. If Farve reports and plays well, then the Packers get a draft pick (2nd round?). This works for the Packers because they get rid of Farve, and possibly get a draft pick. It works for the other team because they get Farve if he reports, or a portion of Farve's signing bonus if he doesn't. Plus, the other team is protected in case Farve doesn't report.

I actually listened to Meatball in the morning today, and agreed with him for perhaps the first time. 31 other teams are doing whatever they can to win now. Shut up, hand Brett the ball, and try to win it all - he gives you your best chance.

It sucks for Aaron Rodgers, but thats also why you drafted Brian Brohm. Get over yourselves and go for the title with the legend. If he sucks, then you bench him.

It would be hilarious if he joined the Bucs and then retired. That would be two QB's in a row. That's some bad luck.

They are getting desperate, it's getting funny. They don't want to release him, but if it comes 2 o'clock and he's not been traded, he WILL probably get released.

You didn't know this Florio? I would have suspected that a smart lawyer like yourself would have realized this... I mean, were you too busy berating the "bungling" of the Packer brass to know how the system works? The Packers were painted into a corner by queen Favre. Now that she forced her way into camp, she is longer retired and subject to different rules. Just because the Packers choose not to show their cards to the likes of you doesn't mean they don't have a plan. They gave favre every chance to end this and not be a douche. Now they can trade her to whomever they can come to terms with and the diva can re-retire or show up. If she really "just wants to play" then it really shouldn't matter what the team is, now should it?

Well, call me Jeff Gillooly! I'm about to pull a Tanya Harding on Jeff Garcia. He is so effeminate, this should be a cake walk. Unless that dude who wanted everyone to 'leave Britney alone!' comes to his aid. Seriously, Ted is the man. He holds all the cards. Trade him to Tampa, and let him reretire! Then we can both split 12 million, or hwe plays for the Bucs. Trade him for a timeshare on the Ocean, whatevr just ship this 'non-distracting' diva outta town. And while you're at it; put his wife on the 1st plane to Mississippi! Bus Cook can stay in Green Bay and serve Brats in the concession stand. He looks more like a bum from the show 'Cops' than a lawyer!

I'm afraid the Packers organization can't win. They either completely crap on their legend and send him to where he doesn't want to go, or they draw the wrath of the GB fans if they send him to the Vikings. How about this for an idea. They open the QB job for anyone to win? Gee, don't all the NFL teams do that? Why are they so brain dead up there in Wisconsin? Apparently they really have it in for Favre if they don't want the best team on the field this year.
