The Green Bay Packers have announced that quarterback Brett Favre has been placed on the team’s activer roster. This development means that Favre passed his physical and his conditioning test.
To make room for Favre, cornerback Condrew Allen has been placed on injured reserve, with a knee injury.
Coach Mike McCarthy is supposedly meeting with Favre on Monday evening, and McCarthy thereafter will meet with the media. Unless Ari Fleischer is the one who’ll be standing at the podium.

Ted Thompson’s legacy of ruin in Green Bay is about to commence. Hope Green Bay enjoys its results as much as Seattle enjoyed the results of his employment here.
Pretty soon, Rodgers will be wearing a #4 jersey and Favre will be playing for the Vikings.
Ted Thompson is great for football. In a Chad Johnson kind of way.

Must have been a pretty easy physical to pass, the way his wife outran him up the stairs in the Mississippi high school stadium the other day.

Wouldn’t it be funny if, after all this, Favre’s first throw of camp resulted in a season-ending injury?
Wouldn’t that be funny?
Huh? Wouldn’t it?

Good, now lets hope Farve blows out his knee on the first play and we can go back to talking about something besides him. Farve is a selfish jerk who plays the dumb hick to manipulate people. Whats next, we find out about a Roger Clemens like past? My guess first choice would be Faith Hill.

good! Let the trainwreck roll straight on through training camp!
It harkens back to the old Seinfeld episode where George invites his In Laws to go to his non-existant house in the Hamptons… and the in laws agree(calling his bluff)… along the way George keeps asking if they’re ready to turn around yet… and they continue to tell George to keep going (knowing full well that He’s bluffing) and George has a fantastic line as he drive miles and miles up to The Hamptons… He says… OOOOKAY!!!!… YOU WANNA GET NUTS… LETS GET NUTS!!!!!
LETS GET NUTS PACKER NATION
… AND THEN GET HAMMERED ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE NATION.

I take that back… it’s not fair to compare Chad Johnson to Ted Thompson. Chad has actually done some positive things in his career.

Well they didn’t release one of the scrub QBs on their roster, so I think that says it right there. They will trade him eventually or cut him right before his salary is guarenteed for the season.

its official. The Packers can now, trade Brett to the Vikings. They were not able to until they placed him on the active roster. If a trade is to take place, it will probably happen withing the next 12 hours… I’d expect it to happen before tomorrows practice.

well, at least you’re down to one digg per post. Tho’ it’s too bad you’re embarrassing yourself with the Ari comments…do you know anything about Ari speaking to the team recently, and why the Packers might have been impressed with him? I will admit, it is rather ridiculous when a team brings a speaker in, and for whatever reason, has some type of continued involvement, business or otherwise with that speaker. That NEVER happens in the NFL.

I think the trade is in the works. They really don’t want Farve there at all. Now they have to take him back and they will flip him. It comes down to how much the Vikes are willing to give for him.

They’re definitely working a trade with someone. Otherwise they would have released Allen outright instead of putting him on IR with a “knee injury”. Favre doesn’t have a fair shot at the battle, they’ll say they like what they see in Rogers and move forward.
Either that or Rogers says “F-U” and asks for a trade.

If the Vikes get him and it doesn’t work out, Thompson will look like the smartest man in football. But if Farve clicks with the Vikes, the Vikes will be the most dominating team in the NFL. That’s no joke. If the offense can let the defense rest, then the Vike’s D will crush most teams.

And regarding Ari Fleischer, how can it hurt their p.r. anymore by bringing in a shill from an inept, deceitful and self-proclaimed above the law administration? Hey, he fits right in! (And, I’m a Packer fan).

this is not rocket science.
the packers are a better team than they were last year.
farve has been successful in 14 of his last 18 starts.
he will start the season, the coaches will find opportunities
to play rodgers whenever possible.
by season’s end when it gets cold the opportunity for rodgers to
successfully succeed farve will come, if not by injury before then.
