Adam Schefter of NFL Network, who was doing double duty on Sunday night as the sideline reporter for NBC’s coverage of the Hall of Fame game, reports that Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall will be suspended three games by the NFL for violation of the Personal Conduct Policy.
Per Schefter, the suspension will be cut to two games if Marshall agrees to undergo counseling, presumably for anger management.
Marshall will be permitted to continue practicing with the team until the week before the first regular-season game.

Schefter should permanently replace Annoying Andrea.

Even though Marshall deserves this, how the hell did Lynch not get something similar to this, he hit a lady with his CAR.

So does Steve Smith get suspended 3 games by Goodell unless he undergoes ‘anger management’ classes? Seems odd to me that the NFL office would allow a player to go around handing other players thier heads on the field.

Adam Schefter is a wee little man, the least NBC could do is buy him a milk crate to stand on.

Steve Smith has been suspended for the first two games of the season. Besides, an on-field incident during the Panthers’ practice is a Panthers front office issue, not a Goodell issue.

This better be the end of it or Shanny will cut him. Unless BM helps them win. Then he will just defend/tolerate/enable Marshall’s antics. Too bad he is so talented. He won’t last the whole season.

I am so sick and tired of hearing people compare this situation to that of Lynch’s. First of all Lynch did not hit a woman intentionally. It was 4am on a VERY BUSY Buffalo street in the pouring rain. Anyone who lives in Buffalo knows exactly what Chippewa street is like at 4am when the bars close. There was a crowd of people dancing in the street and Lynch allowed them to pass by. When he turned he did not notice he hit the woman, mind you, its puring rain outside and if you live in Buffalo you know that he could have easily mistaken it for a pothole…and he barely hit the womam. She bumped into the SIDE MIRROR and fell to the ground. She had very MINOR injuries (a bruise and a couple stiches). I dont want to hear all this BS about how he didnt come forward, he was told by his attorney not to talk, THIS IS STANDARD PROCEDURE IN ANY CASE. I know this becuase I study criminal justice. YOU NEVER INCRIMINATE YOURSELF! This case worked its way through the system just like any other.
Now to the real point….Lynch was convicted of a TRAFFIC VIOLATION, how could you justify Lych being suspended for a traffic violation? There was no evidence that Lynch knew he hit somebody, and even the lady he hit knows this becuase she is NOT filing a civil suit against him. Marshall INTENTIONALLY hit a woman and is being charged with a CRIME, not a mere violation. I cannot believe some un-educated morons are trying to compare these 2. Read up and get your facts straight…

The jurisprudence set forth by the very lawmakers we elect clearly states a significant difference between a mere violation and a misdemeanor. Not to mention an accident and INTENT. If every NFL player were suspended due to a traffic violation and/or a traffic accident, it’s safe to say we wouldnt have a league. Marshall cearly had the intent to hit this woman and injure her, Lynch was involved in an accident.

“Marshall cearly had the intent to hit this woman and injure her, Lynch was involved in an accident.”
actually buffalosoldier there is no proof that Marshall hit his ex-girlfriend there arent any charges for it. he hasnt been convicted of anything, he does however have a letter from his ex demanding 500,000 dollars from him and the Broncos or she would tell the press he hit her. so theres proof of extortion by her but no proof he hit her.
all a girl has to do is tell the police he hit her and they will pick him up whether he did it or not. there is no doubt he has anger problems but that doesnt mean he hit her. i know several girls that have called the cops on their boyfriend and claimed they hit them durring a fight when they never laid a hand on them. thats how some girls get back at their boyfriends.
the only thing he has to go to court for is a DUI in september, a traffic violation. and according to you players shouldnt get suspended for traffic violations.

Actually TheGipper, It is a misdemeanor for any person who is under the influence of alcohol or one or more drugs, or a combination of both alcohol and one or more drugs. If indeed Marshall is a first time offender there is a chance it can be reduced to a violation. But Its plain to see there are underlying issues with Marshall, Gooddell making him take anger management? Something is not right here. This obviously isnt Marshall first run in.
As to you Jimmmyhaffa, these are not excuses, I simply state facts. This was Lynch’s first run-in in the NFL, he was charged with a traffic violation. Enough said. I ask you Jimmyhaffa, should players be suspended for traffic violations?

Gipper: Since when is DUI a “traffic violation?” It’s a misdemeanor at least, and a felony at worst. Hit and run while DUI is the latter, and why everyone thinks that it’s obvious Lynch was DUI, when the DA, judge, Commish, and victim’s lawyer were satisfied with handing him what TRULY is a traffic violation, is anyone’s guess.
Perhaps the truth is that Lynch REALLY didn’t know he hit her and he was sober? Naw, jumping to the worst possible conclusion is always the right answer, if not the sexiest.
As for Marshall, the kid’s got real issues. Whether he deserves to be suspended I can’t say because I don’t know all the facts. But I hope he gets help all the same.

AMEN VOR, well stated my friend. The Lynch case was way overblown from the get-go. To say Lynch was wrong for not talking is absolutely ridiculous. These people who say that obviously do not have any knowledge of the legal system and how cases are handled. You can ask any cop, lawyer, or judge and they will tell you to never incriminate yourself. This lady bumped into Lynch’s side mirror and had boo boo, and everyone wants to call it some kind of horrendous accident. The victim approved of the punishment Lynch recieved, which should tell all of you idiots out there that this was way overblown from the get-go.
