The Philadelphia Eagles had to cancel morning practice on Saturday because (of all things) a water main broke at their training camp.
It happened overnight at Lehigh University, flooding portions of the practice fields and disrupting water service to the locker rooms.
In an unrelated matter, a big wrench was found in running back Brian Westbrook’s dorm room.

Why exactly do they need to have training camp at all? Why can’t they have camp at their own complex instead of some run down college gym? Training camp is so old school it isn’t even funny.

sfitz76 why don’t we just have games at high school venues instead of Lincoln Financial? You and Florio should be nominated for Pulitzers.
In case you had’nt noticed most teams use an off-site location for training camp so players are focused on what is going on and get them back into the mindset of playing professional football. Having an off-site location removes the outside issues of everything else. The water main thing, just a fluke occurrence.

The spirit of Veteran’s Stadium felt the field was in too good of shape.

Training camp at their own field is still training camp.
Some teams choose to do it this way because they feel it increases team comradery. Others feel it’s best to keep the players at home so they’re more comfortable. There’s really no right way or wrong way.

I’m sure that they were only trying to re-create the homey confines of that old dump they miss so much. Were there any rat sightings?

I don’t think they have enough room to have 3rd and 4th team practices all at the same time at the nova-care complex. Plus, its tradition.

sfitz ur an idiot…how can u say there doesnt need to be a training camp? having the camp at lehigh is necessary because it forces the players to concentrate solely on football…football surrounds them and it also makes team commradory…in some cases. training camp is still a vital part of the football season and should never be done away it.

I heard it reported that a man in a Zorro Mask with a sports jacket and a purple tie was seen prowling near the Water Shed lastnight.
He fit the description of Westbrook’s Agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Rosenhaus denied any involvement to reporters saying he was alone in his motel suite all night watching game reruns on NFL Network.

I think it was just an extra-emotional day for the most emo high-maintenance QB in NFL history, Donovan McNabb. I heard that the Eagles were going to cut him but they decided to wait and see if he’d cut himself first. Get it? hahaha I crack myself up sometimes
