A reader raised a very good point with us on Friday night. It was almost good enough for us to use without mentioning it wasn’t our own idea.
After a stream of increasingly unpredictable and bizarre developments in the Brett Favre-Green Bay Packers clusterfudge over the past few days, it’s likely that there were no developments on Friday so that the issue won’t upstage the annual Hall of Fame induction festivities in Canton.
It appears that, presumably at the request of the league office, no action of any kind was taken by either side on Friday. Our guess is that no further action will be taken until Monday, and that Favre’s camp or the team will leak something to Peter King of NBC for use in the Sunday night season-opening broadcast of the Hall of Fame game.

Why haven’t the packers asked Michael Strahan to see if he could ask Favre to stay away?

It would be refreshing to see that Favre realizes that he is not above SOMETHING in importance.

Packers are still trying to trade Farve. Theyre holding out for either an injury or desperation. Negotiating Tactics by King Carl. Ted Thompson’s terrified about getting embarrased on this one. He can’t let a Randy Moss for Troy Williamson type thing happen when everyone still loves this superstar…

This whole thing has been happening because Favre wanted a longterm non-football playing deal with the Packers and for the kind of money now they are finally willing to pay him, since the way this has now played out in public.

Maybe the League could just pay Favre a few million to show up and play in this game. Yeah, let him QB both sides like you do in a street game and there are an odd number of players.
This way, he gets in some action (and we could have another tear jerkin’ retirement speech after the game). After getting his football jones he HAS to RETIRE for GOOD.
I wonder what the retired great players think when they look out on the field and see what the NFL puts on the field now days. It has to make some of them very sad.

The Packers annual family night scrimmage is slated for Sunday evening as well. Wouldn’t it be interesting to have Favre show up at Lambeau with 60,000+ fans in attendance?

Lambeau Losers!! Who cares!! One offers a bribe and the other one takes it(probably). If it plays out that way, I’ll always refer to that franchise as the Lambeau Losers. Not an ounce of integrity or leadership from those whose job it is/was to provide it. Shameful.

Look for Favre to try to upstage the game somehow, regardless of what Goodell wants.

For the love of God, no more Favre. I don’t care if he ends up going to Minnesota and having Adrian Peterson’s love child. This story is worn out and tiresome. Spend time talking about up and coming players, competitions for positions (other than QB in GB). If I find one more damn Favre story on this site, I’m gone for a month.

patriot fan,
I too am a Patriot’s fan, but…….are you serious?
IF a certain scenario plays out, you will always call them a “bad name”!!? What are you, 9 years old? If you always call them the Lambeau Losers, I’ll always call you “caca poopoo pants”!!
P.S. Your mother wears army boots!!!

Get a life……..I guess the Spygate, stashing people in IR, etc… make YOUR franchise the model?
Regardless of what people say, the Super Bowls will always be mentioned in the same breath with Bill the Cheater and SpyGate.
When you get near the 11 NFL championships that GB has over its storied history, Let us Packer fans know.

Spanky, you might want to slow down a little. When you’ve won a playoff game since 1996, then you start talking Super Bowl.
