Steelers rookie receiver Limas Sweed, a second-round draft pick in 2008, was carted off the practice field on Wednesday with an apparent injury to his right hamstring.
The Steelers are hoping that Sweed can make a significant contribution to the receiving corps as a rookie. At six feet, four inches, Sweed gives quarterback Ben Roethlisberger the big target for which Big Ben has been asking.
Sweed’s condition is being evaluated.
UPDATE: Coach Mike Tomlin says it was only cramps.

That’s alright. Willie Reid so is on fire in camp. It’s Polamalu and his hammy that i’d be more worried about. Keep hating on Big Ben, the only guy that finished better than him last year is that guy up in Foxboro. Maybe you’ve heard of him. Suck on that, and try not to choke on his ring while you’re at it.

There was a later report about Sweed’s injury being a leg cramp. So, it may be time to wait and see rather than start the banter just yet.

Yeah, I know….only the youngest QB to ever acquire one with his whole career still in front of him. Go ahead and compare Dilfer’s first 4 years to Big Ben’s…………..let me know how that works out for ya. LOL.

Sweed has a lot of talent, its just the injury bug keeps bitting him. I think it was a good pick for the Steelers, hopefully Sweed wont get injured during the year.

We will see over the course of his career. I will agree, big Jen was a huge part of the super bowl run a couple of years ago, but please come and talk to me after he has three MVPs and no solid running game to support him, thus leading his team to a super bowl.
If I seem to recall, the year after the super bowl, he had the worst QB rating in the NFL. But, I’m sure, since you are a Jen fan, you will piont to the motorcycle accident, or the act in which Jen thought he was Evel Knievel.
Maybe the three interceptions last year in the first half playoff game may allow you to realize. He has a long ways to go. And, if you are from Pittsburgh, you will realize how many of the fans feel about him here, as with the players on the team.

i love how the worst insult you have about roethlisberger is “big jen”. I guess theres not much else to make fun of considering he is the third best quarterback in the league

Mattyl, you seem to have a little crush on Ben. You should write him and ask for an autographed picture.
Big Jen sure is clever. Did you get some help on that or are you keeping all the glory for yourself?

How about a better name for Big Jen…How about Ben Toothlesburger? Anyway, what the f about bragging on his Super Bowl ring?! He holds the record for worst QB rating in Super Bowl history - and it’s not even close. He also owes the refs alot for the ring since it was also the biggest officiating gift is SB history. Can’t wait to see him get pounded this year but the swinging gate that the Squeelers call their offensive line..sit back and enjoy the pounding! He’d probably get his teeth knocked out if he had any.

“Big Jen has as many rings as Trent Dilfer… Remember that!!!”
By using that logic, this Browns fan could also prove his theory that Bernie Kosar was just as good as Dan Marino. Case closed.

Kosar has a SB ring, lest you forget (Dallas ‘93)
Marino played a role in Ace Ventura. He’ll always have that over Kosar.
Oh and get off of Sweed. She’s menstruating.

My mistake - I should have said better than Marino, but since my Isotoner gloves and NutriSystem plan are such fine products, I can’t bring myself to say it.

Ben Toothlesburger -
That’s about 12 times funnier than Big Jen. Ref whining is what I call a Cincinnati radar signature. When I hear it, I know it’s a Cincy fan.

Little Mattyl says:
“talk to me after he has three MVPs and no solid running game to support him, thus leading his team to a super bowl.”
Hey slappy — go look up what Bettis and Parker “gained” during the playoff run when Ben was putting up those 125 rating games. You want to talk about “no run support” that playoff run wrote the book on it.
As for the Cincy fan, I’d be a little more concerned about my overrated choker of a QB who folds in big games like a pup tent. But I did hear Carson is clutch when it comes to Cornhole though.
