Steelers rookie receiver Limas Sweed, a second-round draft pick in 2008, was carted off the practice field on Wednesday with an apparent injury to his right hamstring.

The Steelers are hoping that Sweed can make a significant contribution to the receiving corps as a rookie.  At six feet, four inches, Sweed gives quarterback Ben Roethlisberger the big target for which Big Ben has been asking.

Sweed’s condition is being evaluated.

UPDATE:  Coach Mike Tomlin says it was only cramps.
