A year ago, Byron Leftwich and Quinn Gray were quarterbacks on the Jacksonville Jaguars. When the 2008 season starters, they could each be sharing the team’s offensive secrets with division rivals.
Gray signed last week with the Indianapolis Colts. Leftwich reportedly is getting a look-see from the Tennessee Titans.
But Leftwich isn’t in line to be signed. Instead, the team will decide to add him to a so-called “ready list,” in the event that, for example, starter Vince Young injures himself while running the ball or dancing shirtless in a room full of men.
“He’s played in the league. He’s been a starter in the league. He’s won a lot of games. We’re bringing him in just to work him out and see where he’s at and even give him a physical and have him throw to some receivers that we’re also trying to determine whether we put on our ready list or not,” coach Jeff Fisher said.

Has he had anyone to throw to since Jimmy Smith?

Yeah, how could you not want him after seeing what happened last year? maybe Fisher is going to call in Joey Harrington and Jeff George after Leftwich fails his physical.

I’d take Leftwich over Young NOW.

Is Daunte Culpepper also on that ready list? Every DC on the schedule this season must be losing sleep over that depth chart.

They won’t sign him. Don’t need him. They’ve done this periodically since Reinfeldt become the GM. Brought guys in for workouts so if there is an injury or something, they know what’s out there.
Means nothing.
If you’re that hard up for a Titans story to talk about, mention how good Chris Johnson’s been looking in camp.

Give up on him already, his windup is TERRIBLE, slowest release in the history of the nfl, hes really not that accurate, his completion percentage has been pretty bad as well and hes not mobile at all. He just not NFL material.

Reo is dead on with his response. You have to stay current as to what’s out there in case of an injury. Chris Johnson might just turn out to be offensive ROY.

VY is only a couple of years away from being a “ready list” QB himself.

Titans are fine at WR. Crumpler and CJ were exactly what the Titans needed. They make it extremely difficult to spy VY. And CJ has been very impressive in camp so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if he get the majority of the snaps this year. Hopefully he’ll regulate LenDale to what he should be… the short yardage back.

reo.. The Titans receivers blow. Crumpler will be the #1 aerial threat like he was in Atlanta except now he has to face better opponents cuz he’s in the AFC. Every divisional opponent has a LB that can run with him. That offense scares nobody, especially with VY throwing the ball and Heimerdinger calling the plays.

Its cuz Leftwich fancies himself as a top 16 QB in the league, same as Culpepper does. He wants a big money starting job and it just won’t come. Just like Culpepper.

you know what’s funny? The pic that is causing VY so much grief also features Raiders safety Michael Huff, and NOBODY has noticed. Guess not being a qb has its advantages.
