Back in my late-30s, when I was training 75-100 miles a week for marathons, I noticed that I wasn't as sensitive to/aware of the heat as much as I had been before I started intense training and would keep going long after people in ordinary shape would've had to take a seat in the shade with a cold drink. However, I did suffer a bout of mild heatstroke once that came on me very suddenly. IOW, perhaps my conditioning actually left me more vulnerable to stumbling into dire circumstances before I knew what was happening.

I'm in center city right now and its 91F according to the PECO building next door. Its also about 90% humidity out. I can imagine running around in full garb with a helmet on would dehydrate you fairly quickly.

Odd, since it's not really that hot in the area. Fairly humid though, and Lehigh might be hotter than where I'm at, but it felt pretty comfortable when I went out for lunch. Hope he's OK.
