Though there’s a question as to whether Brian Billick’s Club Med-style training camps truly got the team ready for the rigors of the regular season, a tougher training camp means that there will be greater chances for injury.
On Sunday, another injury occurred.
Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was carted away with an injury to his right leg.
“We don’t think it’s serious, but we’ve got to find out as we go,” coach John Harbaugh said.
Left tackle Jared Gaither sprained an ankle on Saturday, and running back Willis McGahee has a lower leg injury.
Also on Saturday, Ngata got into a fight with tight end Todd Heap, after Heap mixed it up with Jarret Johnson.
The good news for the Ravens is that cornerback Chris McAllister and Fabian Washington has been cleared to practice.

All the injuries these days have me wondering, are injuries seemingly more frequent or do we just have the resources/technology to hear about every time a 3rd string player has a hangnail or papercut.
I wish the media would come to a gentlemans agreement to only report significant injuries to significant players.

Ngata gets into a fight with Todd Heap, and the next day gets a leg injury. Where are the conspiracy theorists when you need them??

Ngata is a huge part of the Ravens D, and was the 12th overall pick 2 years ago. Far from a 3rd stringer with a hangnail.

It’s good that it’s only a mild MCL sprain, this guy is a top 5 DT

Luckily it wasn’t Ray Lewis or Bart Scott. The whole defense would have thought they’d gone deaf.

brianfoster, are you stupid? Ngata is a significant player, one of the best d-linemen in the L and only entering his third season.

How are they gonna blame this on Billick, oh that’s right Harbaugh is here and he’ll get a pass for injuries unlike Billick whose starting O line featured 3 rookies and a scrub (Terry) minus a HOF Ogden ut injuries are not an excuse right???
