A reader has pointed out to us an amazing claim for Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones. And, in our view, the situation is proof positive that the guy really isn’t all that bright.
Jones, according to the Ventura County Star, said on Saturday that he participated in three offensive plays during his career with the Titans — and scored three touchdowns.
He says that two plays were reverses that he ran to paydirt. The third was a touchdown pass to the player formerly known as Pacman.
It sounds great. It would sound even greater if it were, you know, true.
According to NFL.com, Jones has two career rushing attempts for eight total yards and no touchdowns. He also has two career receptions for 31 total yards. And no touchdowns.
In fairness to Jones, he has four career punt return touchdowns and one interception that he took to the house. But he has generated not a single touchdown on offense.
We suppose there’s a chance that the reporter got it wrong. For now, though, the import of the story is that Pacman doesn’t understand the concept of statistics, or the ability of people to check them.

“Pacman doesn’t understand the concept of statistics, or the ability of people to check them.”
Is this what qualifies you as “stupid?” I don’t see many statisticians “making it rain.” And I’m pretty sure the Gurls aren’t paying him to keep stats.

I think he ran one in on offense, but it was called back on a penalty. Not 100% sure on that one however.

They did occur, however, they were all called back due to penalties.

Yeeeeah I’m pretty skeptical, since there’s not a direct quote from Jones to that effect in that article.

Let’s give this guy a couple of those Super Bowl Tickets that Jerry Jones had printed last year.It would be interesting to hear the story Packman comes up with!

In fairness, I know he had one long run for a touchdown in a game that was negated by a penalty. He may have even had another that was taken away by penalty, but I can’t remember.
But he’s still exaggerating big-time.

pacman did score three touchdowns on offense but each one was called back on penalty but, then again he did play more than three plays on offense.

I admit Jones is perhaps one of the more ignorant individuals in sports.
But, I don’t see direct quote from him about the scoring in the article.
Wade Phillips (a noted bumpkin himself) did say this in the opening day press conference. That is probably where the writer with the funny name got it from.

I think we all understand that Jones is not a candidate for Mensa.
While I am very concerned about the ever-increasing amount of criminal activity in the NFL, I am more disturbed that grown-ups still use the phrase “to the house.”

To Pacman’s (oops) defense, he did have 1 maybe 2 rushing or receiving touchdowns called back for penalties. Apparently he blocked the penalty part out. Only problem is the whole, ya know, statistical records.

Do you want to make this site about pointing out who in football are mentally weak? Is that what you teach the little ones?

Technically he was close according to your own stats, Florio. The turd formerly known as Pacman stated he appeared in 3 offensive plays for the Titans and scored 3 TDs… He was off by two, technically he scored five TDs…but they were all on special teams and defense, not on the reverses and catch he claimed.

How diplomatic. Anybody who has seen him speak comes away with one very firm conclusion….the guy is an absolute moron.
Also….’GREENBLOOD’. I take it from your post that you consider “Making it Rain” something that intelligent people do??? If you are of the mindset that throwing tens of thousands of dollars away in a strip club is behavior to be admired then I can only assume that you slithered out of the same vermin nest as the moron formally known as Pacman.
I can’t wait for this ultra-turd to screw up again and get booted from the league for good. Scum bags like him don’t deserve the privilidge of playing in the NFL. He’s an embarrassment to our entire society.
