QB Jim Sorgi was eight-for-eight in seven-on-seven drills on Friday.
QB Quinn Gray and QB Jared Lorenzen are officially in the fold and practicing with the team; said Gray, “I’m here to pick up the offense and once I learn it, we’ll see what happens.”
With Gray and Lorzenzen on the roster, QB Josh Betts got das boot.
Though DT Quinn Pitcock was excused for personal reasons, a tipster tells us that Pitcock has no desire to play, and that he was on his way to camp on Thursday and turned his car around.
The first practice drew 927 fans, 800 fewer than last year’s opening practice of training camp.
Coach Tony Dungy gauged the health of WR Marvin Harrison by looking at him. “For me, I try to read his face,” Dungy said. “When he’s smiling and doesn’t have that worried look, then I think things are pretty much normal.”
S Melvin Bullitt sprained a thumb and LB Philip Wheeler injured his knee during Saturday morning’s practice.
Six players remain on the PUP list, including five starters.
