Seahawks receiver Bobby Engram isn’t happy with his contract. And so he made himself scarce during the offseason, hoping to get a raise over the $1.7 million that he’s due to earn in 2008.
But Engram showed up for training camp on Friday, and was immediately put back into the starting offense.
Engram, 35, signed a two-year contract in 2007, after spending several weeks on the free-agent shelf. He thus got the best deal he could have obtained at the time, and now he wants to parlay a good season with Seattle into something more.
So why didn’t he just sign a one-year deal? Probably because he wanted a certain amount of up-front money, and to get it he needed to commit for two years instead of one.
Thus, he needs to honor his contract and then become a free agent in March 2009. If he gets a better offer than what the Seahawks are willing to do, he should take it.

Thus he should have thought about his long term value before signing thus contract and thus not be underpaid in thus Seattle…thus?
