Radio host Rush Limbaugh, whose career included five years ago (holy crap, has it been that long?) a brief stint on ESPN’s NFL coverage, reportedly would be interested in buying the St. Louis Rams.

The Rams would be a great team to have,” Limbaugh told the St. Louis Business Journal, via Sports by Brooks.  “I have a lot of friends in ownership in the NFL, and my desire to get involved has not been a secret.”

One potential hurdle is that Limbaugh would have to accept a high amount of debt if he were to buy a team.  Currently, he has none.

“I have no debt whatsoever,” he said.  “This would require changing that.”

Limbaugh’s interest isn’t surprising.  He loves pro football and he has a lot of money.  But with his supposed favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, having ownership turmoil, it would make more sense for him to try to buy a piece of the team that the Rooney family has owned for years.
