i would recommend those who feel this to be legitimate to heed by noting that the source is not within the mainstream sports syndicate. if he were the inside source within the eagles that WIP would cherish, then it would remain to be seen why they would keep the perrenial PR specialist and hand puppet, Howard eskin, would still have his job. just understand that it remains to be seen if believing jibberish without foundation is solid. the source's reliability always comes into question -- more in this case than most.

Vox Veritas: The Eagles just extended Westbrook a few years ago, so take him off the list. It remains to be seen how the Sheppard sitation plays out. Al Harris wasn't a contract situation, he was the nickel corner and wanted to start, just like Rod Hood. It wasn't going to happen here. Duce, Simon, Vincent & Douglass all left the Eagles and proved they couldn't play anymore, so the Eagles were right to let them walk. I'll give you Trotter but his problem was being unhappy with the franchise tag. The Eagles didn't want to let him walk.

I have no problem ripping the Eagles but you have to be fair. Your comment was just ill-informed.

Duce, Trotter, Corey Simon, Al Harris, Wellbourn, Vincent, Hugh Douglas, now Westbrook and Sheppard.

"The Philthy Eagles have a long history of not taking care of their own and this is just another case of it."

Hey Tex, seems your knowledge of the Andrews situation is about the same as your knowledge of your anatomy.

The Eagles already took care of Andrews giving him a contract extention during his rookie contract.

Dude's not going anywhere, I don't care how much of a "tearjerker" it may be. Andy isn't about to trade the best guard in the league. I don't know what his problem is, but he needs to get his ass to camp, especially after all that BS last year.

"You don’t trade an OL for a premier WR, unless its Hutch or throwback Larry Allen."

Wrong on so many levels, first of all if Andrews isn't as good as hutchenson he's damn close... Secondly a top flight lineman is worth at least as much as a premier wide out, probably more...

Dumb fans think the skill positions (RB, WR) are the most valuable because their contributions are exciting and easily seen without studying film but those are some of the most fungible positions on the field... Line play goes way farther in determining the outcome of each game. Coaches and GM's know that that's why those guys average way higher salaries...

You know Andy's real sour on Shawn Andrews if his little suck-up, sock puppet Eskin is talking bad about Andrews. Eskin would never be down on an Eagles player unless Andy gave Eskin permission to be.

Hey Tex Big, you are an idiot. McNabb is not a Mormon, Andy Reid is. So before you try to be funny, know what you're talking about. And, at least our management doesn't sign one turd after another. For Pete's sake, they have a CB they have to tail 24/7 to make sure he stays out of trouble. Now that's hysterical.

The Eagles have a great offensive line coach so dealing Andrews to Arizona for Boldin would be a win/win situation. Who would takes Andrews spot? Jean-Gilles? Suitable replacement.

Andrews/Boldin...Andrews/Roy Williams (the WR) are stupid trades....the Eagles should def do it in a heart beat...but it's a loss for the lions and the Cards.

As a Cowboys fan, I could not be happier.

The Philthy Eagles have a long history of not taking care of their own and this is just another case of it. Horrible management.

If you get rid of this immense talent, who's going to protect the Mormon QB?

First off who would we replace Andrews with this season? Max Jean-Gilles? Who knows what he can do?

Second why are you guys getting all over Gargano? The mid day show is the best thing on 610.

Cipher - Remember that Andy got a sandwich and a hug from FredEx before they drafted him over Chad Johnson and Reggie Wayne. Apparently sandwiches mean a lot in this organization.

Actually Gargano had absolutely nothing to back this up with. The extent of his story was they MIGHT consider trading him sometime in the future. He knows absolutely nothing. Its only been one day people.

Before anyone gets too excited, I was listening to Glen & Cuz and they made it very clear that the Eagles impetuously discussed trading Andrews out of frustration but quickly put those thoughts aside. They were also quite clear that trading Andrews for Roy Williams was just conjecture on their part and not something that was, is or will be discussed between the Eagles and Lions. The Eagles expect Andrews to report, eventually. They plan to talk to his agent about the issue on Saturday.

By the way, I love Andrews as a player but I'd trade him for a top receiver in a second. I'd be much happier with Roy Williams and Max Jean-Gilles then Shawn Andrews and Reggie Brown. I can't believe the Lions would do that.

Gargano stumbled through a bunch of BS and never revealed jack. He has no source. As for GCobb, the guy is a joke. He (actually, it wasn't even him, it was one of his "interns") hit on the Asante Samuel deal. He's known about as much as I do since then. Larry Fitzgerald, anyone?

To me the more interesting story would be how this relates to Stacy Andrews not signing a long term deal with the Bengals. It's been rumoured that Stacy wanted to work his way out of Cincinnati so he could go to Philly and play with his brother.

Now I'm starting to wonder if they are making a play to be playing on a team of their own choosing in 2009. Maybe a play to move to Dallas? Seems like their ties to Arkansas would make that the logical play here with Jerry Jones having played and graduated from Arkansas it stands to reason he's developed some kind of relationship with Shawn.

Anyone think Shawn has an Eagle paid cell phone he's been using? ;)

I'd want a great player + a good pick for Andrews. We're in a division that's loaded with pass rushers and he's our best O-lineman (though he does need to work on his pass blocking). He's also versatile enough to move to tackle...he's got great feet. Who cares if he's moody.... 80% of the NFL is moody. You've got the self-medicating players, players who want a new contract before the ink dries on their old contract, wife-beaters, gun-toaters....

As many other Bear fans have posted our team sure would like to add a first pick quality guard if at all possible. It would be nice to know what the salary cap ramifications are for a trade of Andrews to the Bears. However as I understand it the Bears are about 1-2MM under the cap and probably will use that to give Hester a new contract. If Andrews salary was front loaded maybe a deal can be done especially if the Bears can lose Ricky Manning Jr.'s salary without much of a cap hit. Another are the Bears are thick at is LB so if the Eagles need help there maybe a deal is possible. For example Jamal Williams was ready to Briggs place and he apparently is NFL starter ready for WLB.

He's probably PO'd that Tre/William Thomas or Runyan won't retire so he can start making Tackle money. He IS our best lineman, but a move for either of those WRs whould be a big upgrade to the offense.

As for Gargano, he's the best host on WIP - way better than the morning guys and a ton better than Eskin. Too bad for him he looks like Fred Flinstone on TV, or he'd have a big career in front of him on ESPN or NFLN.

So if the Eagles trade Andrews, he got a $10.5 million signing bonus to fulfill the final two years of his rookie contract and then cash in with a new team. Not a bad deal for him. It would suck for the Eagles because they would have shelled out $10.5 million for nothing. They could have just let him complete his rookie contract, franchise him and trade him and would have saved the money.

the trades for andrews on here are utterly ridiculous. he is one of the very best offensive lineman in the game today. And you guys know how Andy loves his lineman. With McNabb finally healthy the las thing we need to do is to remove his greatest protecter.

if you sign a contract long term you better believe that your going to be getting paid less than the market when time passes, thats the exchange you take for taking security if you go down and get injured, he's signed through 2015! they shouldn't trade him, just attracts more players to whine about their contracts(see Terrell Owens) because they know the team will give in, pull the marvin lewis and just let him show up...eventually

Remember last summer when he had the ankle problem and got really emotional about that?? He made everyone think it was a career threatening situation--I'm not sure if he missed a regular season game due to it. The Eagles were not happy having to put out those fires. Having said that--you just don't give away a good guard.

Andrews for Manning Jr? Instead of a "report as inappropriate" button, can there be a "report for idiocy" button?

Come on fella, how many CBs does one team need? And why would the eagles trade one of the best guards in the league for a potential bear cast off?

Please lord NO! he is a GREAT guard. not just good. I would love Roy Williams (the WR, not the S who can't play football) but not for the big kid.

Gargano also is saying the Eagles HAVE NOT talked to Andrews at all, and will be talking to his agent tomorrow. Former LB Garry Cobb is killing Andrews on WIP now, calling Andrews a big baby.

Andrews for Manning Jr and maybe a draft pick? The Bears could use a new guard.

Emotional? More like a fat cry-baby. Too bad we need him. I'm sure Arizona would love to have a guy like Andrews right now, and we'd love to have a guy like Anquan.
