Billknapp says:
"What sounds better? Jett Favre or Brett *uccaneer? "

Even sober, I couldn't come up with anything funnier than that! As a Pats fan though, I guess I have to go with Brett *uccaneer. No, not THAT kind of asterisk!

To everyone that says the Packers have the best chance of going to the Superbowl if they were to keep Favre, and that its ridiculous they wouldn't want to keep him and go this year...Look at the games the Packers lost last year:
The first Chicago game, Favre gave up two costly interceptions. The Cowboys game, Favre absolutely stunk against the top of the NFC and then Rodgers came in and actually got the Packers into a game that Favre at just about taken them out of. The second Bears game, Favre threw two more costly interceptions and couldn't handle the bad weather. Come the playoffs, Ryan Grant won the first game for the Pack, and then Favre threw a costly interception to lose the game in the playoffs again (third time I think that's happened?). Rodgers is ready to take over, Favre is gonna bomb where ever he is.

Come the time the Bucs play the Packers people will stop sending cheese to Thompson and realize he made the right decision after Favre throws up several interceptions to the the defense Thompson built to help Favre.

40for60, you never cease to amaze me with your retarded comments. Makes the Packers look bad and Favre look good? Keep in mind that Favre retired and said he didn't have what it took to give 100% any more. He's always spoke from the heart, so now we should believe that he wasn't? Throw in that he called in April and said he wanted to play and the Packers made arrangements to fly a private plane to him to make the announcement and then he calls the next day and says sorry, I'm sticking to my original decision to retire.

Enough is enough....especially when you throw in the fact that he had have time for the past 4 years after the season to decide if he wanted to play anymore. I don't think he has the desire to give 100% and it's quite possible that he will not play at the same level that he did last year.

Do you have what it takes to take an NFL offense and bring it to the top of the leader boards? In YOUbeQB.com's spin on fantasy football, you become the offensive coordinator of your favorite team where you design a PlayBook that will kick major ass and battle it out against other "hot shots" by going head to head with your friends in group play, or you can stand alone against the world in single player. Either way, its up to you to get your PlayBook up to standards so you can reign supreme! Report to Training Camp now at www.youbeqb.com/training_camp to get your PlayBook design skills up to snuff!

We'll see you on the field!

It might not be out of the realm of possibility that Favre comes to Tampa straight up for Garcia. Favre has a cap heavy $12mil a season contract while Garcia has a very cap friendly deal with one year left on it. The Packers need a veteran backup for Aaron Rodgers with experience in the WCO while the Bucs want somebody to give them that Super Bowl mojo. Garcia has a lot of experience in the WCO, has played in some colder weather than Lambeau (several seasons in the CFL), him coming to the Packers would seem like a win for both sides.

"I mean you guys were one game away from going last year"

You misspelled "one rag-armed QB away". Favre's lost it. How many times did a guy get open only to have to slow up and wait for another one of Favre's retarded ducks to get to him last year?

I think that mrcmos has it correctly. The best option is the Buccaneers is Favre's best bet. Chucky likes a veteran QB and he has a flexible mind toward his offensive system. He could make it work.

There's a defense there to work with with Monte Kiffen at the helm. They got a heck of a field goal kicker. Favre would have a chance to make a run...

“Brett always said it wasn’t about the records, but coming back in this capacity makes one think otherwise. “
That makes absolutely no sense considering Brett has already broken the records.

Griese (maybe Simms) and 09 3rd round pick for Farve. Then Garcia to Vikings or Bears for 3rd or 4th in 09. ..and Simms to Dallas for a 4th in 09 or '10. Leaves us with Farve for two years with McCown as back-up and Josh Johnson as next gruden project. I think with another year of seasoning McCown will be ready to step in and do very well. Sometime it pays to collect QB's !!!

Farve & Super Bowl... WOO HOO !!!

Favre isn't going to the Jets. They are not contenders, even with Favre. Tampa would likely be the highest bidder for Favre, but the Vikings and Bears could still be trade possibilities. I'm a longtime Packer and Favre fan but I would trade Favre to either team for the right draft picks. Favre is still going to throw the ball up for grabs, even with a new team. He would probably throw a bunch of picks if he ever plays against the Packers. Last year in Dallas, he threw some brutal interceptions because he has trying to win the game on one throw. The same thing would happen this year if he plays against the Packers.

For those Aaron Rodgers haters out there: Did you ever consider that the Packers might have gone to the Super Bowl if Rodgers had played that playoff game against the Giants? Favre played that game like an old man, especially in the second half. He forced a throw to Donald Driver in overtime that ended the Packers season. If Rodgers had played, maybe they win that game.

The Packers are bigger joke than my wasitline. I mean why not trade him to my team and let him play. This has gotta suck for the packers but makes Favre look good. Like me.

Favre doesn't even hold the record for most QB SB wins for the Packers. Favre read Dr. Z's prediction the Vikings would win the SB and wanted to climb on that gravy train--whoops--that stripper gravy boat.

Free all Packer fans who know Bart Starr was and is the greatest GB quarterback. Trade Favre to the Detroit Shock so he and Nancy Lieberman can compare menopause medications.

How do you guys who are saying he has all the records not understanding that he can still increase his totals. All records get broken, so if he doesn't set the bar as high as he can he won't get to enjoy them long. How many records does Marino hold now?

I'm suprised that there is so much venom coming from Packer fans on Favre changing his mind. I'm sure it pisses off Rodgers, but who do you think gives them a better chance to go to the Big Game? I mean you guys were one game away from going last year. There were no other major losses from their roster. Why wouldn't you want him back for another year? I understand going through the drama every year about whether he will retire or not, but isn't it worth it to be a true contender??

NO! He has to stay a packer. If you agree help send Cheese to Thompson if he doesn't bring back Favre as the starter. Check it out here: http://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/bring-back-brett-favre

Who cares anymore what Brett does? This guy has a GM who
does a great job for the Greenbay Packers. Thompson is
responsible for the Coach that helped Favre, the receiver
Jennings who helped Favre, the defense and the protection
that the QB got. So what does Favre do; he retires, then
goes on national TV to bad mouth the guy who was most
responsible for providing the support that helped him
have an all pro year. What Brett Favre needs is medication
and some good therapy. Brett should take his wife to the
south of France for a month and just shut up!

A trade with the Jets would make sense for the Packers, and not just because its an AFC team. Trade Favre for Pennington and 2nd or 3rd rounder. NYJ trading Pennington would clear up some needed cap space for Favre, and the Packers would have an experienced QB to fill in for a game or two if Rodgers goes down and Brohm isn't ready. I know, Pennington is far from great, but as a Packer fan I'd rather see him for a game or two early in the season than Brohm.

If both the team and player REALLY want to win a another title
the best chance they have is going for it together..

The Bucs are his best bet. He would be wise to sit down and speak with them. Hopefully this whole mess can be put behind the Packers and we can move forward with Rodgers, for better or worse. Then the Bucs can deal with his annual drama of will I or won't I retire. I am tired, I don't think I can do this another year, BLAH...Blah...Blah... I am fed up with this annual BS. Let some other team deal with the Diva. I wish him nothing but the best, except on 9/28/08 when we can pick off one of his wounded ducks.

Brett always said it wasn't about the records, but coming back in this capacity makes one think otherwise.
