The Oakland Raiders have asked running back LaMont Jordan not to report for training camp, a league source tells us.
But the Raiders haven’t released Jordan, or traded him.
The only problem is that, well, the Raiders can’t keep him away. They either need to let him report to camp, trade him, or cut him. (See Favre, Brett.)
The source says that Jordan will try to get the situation resolved quickly. In 2006, quarterback Steve McNair won a grievance against the Titans when the Titans refused to let him participate in offseason workouts.
Thus, it appears to be an open-and-shut case, if Jordan pushes it.

The Raiders are jacking with Lamont. They will screw him around as long as they can. If they keep this up, he will have a hard time getting a good shot with another team.
Lamont musta pissed ‘em off good.

Al probably hasn’t cut him yet because he doesn’t want the Denver Donkeys to pick him up…as if he would be a threat to Oakland anyway. pfft

Paging the commissioner…We have another veteran player who needs his situation to be resolved. Where’s the consistancy? Goodell should be coming to the aid of Jordan very soon, telling Big Al to “move on” if they don’t want him…

the raiders dont want him to land with the broncos. so they are gonna keep him on the hook as long as possible. They will continue to look for trades, but wont get any. That is of course unless backs start getting hurt in camp. Then raiders may get value, but probably not. Its a smart move, and yes, also a dick move.

What’s really funny is he was a big FA acquisition just a couple years ago. LJ has very low mileage for a veteran RB.

Does anyone know how someone as handi-caped as Al Davis got his money in the first place? He has the IQ of a 3 year old child but has his own NFL team and always has. Raiders had one of the best run offences in the league last year. Nice choice on McFadden when Goulston was out there. Welcome to another 5-11 season Gayders.

Another great move by the Raiders…
They paid big time cash to sign him as a free agent, then 2 years later they wait until a day and a half before Camp and tell him to stay “home”…?
Another year of struggle for the team from the other side of the Bay! LOL

i doubt the Broncos wouldnt be interested in LJ. remember its the Raiders that sign AFC West rejects to big money contracts.
is it just me or does it seem like Al davis is extremely paranoid these days that everyone is out to get him? i think hes losing it.
