As the offseason ends, so does its most bizarre, and entertaining, storyline. Supposedly.
Chad Johnson and Marvin Lewis have mended the relationship that fractured when Ocho Cinco went on a volatile campaign to be shipped out of Cincinnati.
Quoth Lewis: “He’s a very, very good player. I’m excited for him to cleanse his mind and get back to having fun.” Likewise, team president Mike Brown declares the matter behind the Bengals. Johnson has apparently been calling and texting Lewis as the two have buried their beef.
Which is really the only option at this point; it’s best for both sides to move on externally regardless of whether either has moved on internally. The Bengals’ only chance at a successful season (if they have one to begin with) is for there to be some semblance of harmony, or at least an appearance of it, between Johnson and the team.

Should be interesting to read their comments after potentially starting 0-4 in September:
Sun. 7 @ Ravens
Sun. 14 TITANS
Sun. 21 @ Giants
Sun. 28 BROWNS

3 and 1 after those first 4 games. They will get beat by the Giants but that’s it.

I’m a lifelong Bengals fan, but even i think we could go 1-3 in the first four games, and I’m being really optimistic about that. “whodeynumber9″, I appreciate your enthusiasm and OOOOHHH MMMYYY do I hope you’re right, but don’t make all us Bengals fans look like dumbasses. lol.
Being the division winner in the AFC North is like hitting the power-ball numbers anymore. 3 different winners in the last four years, and last year would have made 4 in 4 years if it weren’t for the Steelers owning the tie-breaker w/ Cleveland.

They would have to go to Kentucky to bury their beef. The Titans will suck, and the Ravens and Browns will give them good games. They Giants will probably win. I think they will go anywhere from 0-4 to 4-0. I’d put money on it.

Yeah, I dont think there is much chance of the Bengals going 0-4 to start to season. I see 3-1. How anyone can think that the home game agains the Browns is a likely loss fot the Bengals is crazy to me. The Bengals own the Browns, winning 7 of the last 8, including their most recent meeting in last December when the Brown had to win to make the playoffs. They also own the Ravens, winning 5 of their last 6 against the Ravens including their last 3 meetings. Titans at home is not a tough game. Giants in NJ is obviously a tough game, but I think the Bengals match up pretty well against the Giants as they have the type of pass blocking OL to keep that Giants D off of Palmer.
