Guys, (and gals), put away your "you signed a contract" and your "these damned athletes!!" hatred and look at this realistically (especially you bears fans)... the man deserves a raise... At this point he's being insulted. Give him a little more money (he really does deserve it) and then give him some WR-related incentives. He wants to be paid like a (healthy) Steve Smith. But he hasn't proven he can carry the load. Ron Turner says he's tripling his snaps this season (3x the number of WR screens I guess). What does it hurt to say "here's some money up front because we love you, and if you play like a #1 WR, here are some incentives that will pay you like one, if you get in the endzone more often than Berrian did (6+ times?)" Then everyone is happy, right? Hester playing this year at $500k, contract or not, is wrong... and they need him and he (and his agent) knows it. Pay the man! Um, Scratch? You must not follow the Bears. If you did, you’d know that Devin Hester, possibly more so than anyone else on the whole team, needs to “learn” the playbook. Did you see his performance at wide receiver last year? It was like watching Pop Warner league 10 year olds learn how to play the game.
