In a recent visit to the studios of Sirius NFL Radio, receiver Plaxico Burress made an impression.
Though not quite as audacious as, say, pooping in a hamper, Burress defaced an expensive leather chair that celebrates the Patriots’ three Super Bowl wins.
Specifically, Burress left his John Hancock on the white leather portion of the backrest, with the inscription “XLII Champs!”
Here’s the photographic evidence.
Maybe the Pats’ rallying cry for 2008 will now be, “We must protect this seat!”

Let me understand this. Since the Patties have won 3 super bowls they have something over on the rest of the league? Chowda heads need to realize that the Manning brothers have ended their dreams two years in a row and their team is on the decline. They are in the weakest division in the NFL. The other 3 teams in their division last year were a combined 12-36 and they don’t look to improve this year. I can hear it now, “yeah but we’ve won it three* times*”. So what! Do you hear Steelers, Cowboys or even Raider fans living in the past as much as the Chowda heads? I think not. Wake up and smell the coffee while you are stuffing your fat heads with dunkin donuts. By the way the word would be classless not unclassy(is slang and not actually a word). Let the love flow.

Is that really defacing it though????
Now that chair is worth more money.
Just because Florio says it’s defacing, doesn’t mean it really is…he AUTOGRAPHED it.
Get a grip Pats fans, I’d say the same about Moss for doing that to a Giants chair.

It doesn’t matter. The Giants aren’t returning to the Super Bowl this season, and there’s a good chance Plaxico’s chronic malingering will finally push the Giants’ coaching staff beyond its tolerance point.

Wait, you’re not just still mad about the Superbowl are you?

I guess Belechick running, actually sprinting, off the field before the game was over bothered Plax as well.
No Pats fan should ever call anything low class.
That team, and it’s pompous score-runnning-up, whining coach, redefined low class white trash last year.

To all you Pats whiners - The Giants will be back. They are going to sneak some dirt bag into the stands, videotape the opposing teams signals, use said tapes to know what defense is called in upcoming games and then change their offensive plays so that they take advantage of their ill gotten knowledge of the other teams signals, make the head coach look like he’s a “genius” despite his lack of success in previous jobs, and then when they get caught, they will claim that the league’s rules “weren’t clear”. Oh, wait. That’s already been done.

two, TomBradyWoot:
please shut up.
three, Joesixpack:
I agree with part of what you’re saying. I’m also not suprised why what Plax did. He is a bum and he has a demon for an agent that doesn’t try to stop him from committing these unneccessary, albeit funny, actions. Like holding out of training camp because your agen….. you want a new contract. (Drew Rosenhaus gets a one-time cut of his clients’ contract money, then he has no income from that player until said player signs a new contract. I believe [not sure if it’s true, but I know it’s the case with Chad Johnson, so I’m assuming it’s the same with Plax] that Drew becamse Burress’ agent mid-contract, which means he’s seen $0.00 from him in terms of payment, and after making the super bowl winning catch, what better time to cash in? [Please note: if Drew was the agent representing Burress when he signed his current contract, then a similar situation still applies. Rosenhaus is still a greedy, soulless, bastard who thinks of no one but himself.])
Also so JoeSixPack: that’s a pretty naive statement. The odds of that happening are very slim and if you refuse to admit that then you truely are incompitent.

Wait. To clarify, you’re talking about Plaxico Burress, the WR who caught the winning touchtown against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII? Is that who you mean?
The one who everyone laughed at for predicting that the Patriots would only score 17 points? And then they only scored 14?
That Plaxico?
Oh, yeah. Now I know who you’re talking about.

so when is Ray Lewis gonna show up and sign his name to the Giants’ chair? i mean, how silly to act like winning a SB years removed from ones you didn’t take part in, means anything?
and for the record, Plax is lucky he didn’t face any of the Pats’ 3 SB winning teams, since they actually played defense when the game was in question.

What a juvenile jerk. I hate it when players act like this. Heck, I even hate it when Pats players act like this (see Hobbs). A handful of low class players with no respect for anything except their own paychecks make the whole NFL look like crap. The sad thing is there are many good examples of players behaving properly, and exercising respect out there, but acts like this are the ones that ruin the reps for them all. Take the Pats for example. They, with the rare exception (like Hobbs) take great care to always verbally respect their opponents.
What idiots like this do not realize, is that their behavior shows a lot about their personality, and who they are. In this case Plexiglass is clearly showing that he fears the Patriots. Deep down he feels that he can never measure up to the Pats, and must therefore act in a manner like this in order to try and demonstrate on a surface level like he IS at their level. The truth is he is right, he can never measure up to the Patriot players. He will never repeat the success of the last Superbowl.
Give the GIants their due. They outplayed the Pats in the big game. Unfortunately behavior like this leads people to think that they got it more by being lucky than by playing their hearts out.
I am sure someone is working hard to erase his signature right now. The chair is worth more without that garbage on it.

Who cares-he earned his right to do this(or at least his team did). The biggest difference is you won’t see any Pats crying to the media Ladanian Tomlinson-style about being disrespected. Certainly no one will blame this on Coughlin. Instead, they will use it as more motivation and understand that they gave him the right to do that by playing shoddy defense and not protecting their quarterback. As a Pats fan, if I hear one complaint coming from Foxboro about this, I will actually be worried. I’m pretty sure that I won’t though.

And people wonder why there is a thug mentality in the NFL? Plax defaced property that was not his, and by signing his name, is obviously proud of it.
I forget if he’s on the Turd list yet, but he ought to be for this trashy stunt. I hope Sirius makes him pay for a replacement and sew the Pats emblems back on by hand.
