Former NFL linebacker Odell Thurman, who currently is on yet another suspension, has been arrested in Georgia for felony assault.
Thurman is being held in a Georgia jail while awaiting an extradition hearing.
On May 27, Thurman allegedly punched a man in theĀ face at an Ohio waterpark, breaking his jaw.
It’s pretty safe to say that Thurman’s chances of returning to the NFL are now even worse than Michael Vick’s, but still better than Rae Carruth’s.

Wo!. It’s incredible how some guys just don’t learn. Maybe jail will humble Odell and help him realize the gifts that he’s thrown away. He was a very good LB and would have made pretty good money in the league too.

At a waterpark? Not a strip club? Wet T-shirt contest at the park maybe? Unbelievable.

As Don Imus would say “There you go.”
(Watch for Sarcasm)
We shouldn’t be arguing about who punched out who and who’s jaw is broken by who. In public waterpark’s there are always public brawls over questionable instigation. Thurman was just out having a routine day. Some of these fans just can’t handle being in the presence of Thurman without starting something. His agent will tell you in all these occurrences Thurman is blameless.
Why is this man being persecuted? Was it really racial profiling or something more sinister? It is just a giant conspiracy by the NFL and the rest of society to marginalize Odell Thurman by not giving him everything he wants fast enough. He is under no obligation to control his emotions because discipline is not “keeping it real”!!
Prison is a community status symbol. Prison is the way manhood is proven and the only way to obtain “street cred”.
Odell Thurman would be fine is everyone would either let Odell do what Odell wants or get out of his way. Everything else is a racist act.

Rae Carruth gets out in 10 years, I’m sure Dallas, Bengals and/or the Raiders will still need a receiver come that time.

Quote:
“The Erie County warrant was issued in early July for the former second round draft pick out of Georgia, following a May 27th incident at Kalahari Waterpark where, police say, he punched another man in the face, fracturing the man’s jaw.
Erie County Sheriff’s Office Captain Paul Sigsworth told Fox 8 News Thurman and the man were arguing over a place in line.”
I hate to imagine what chaos might ensue when Thurman visits his local Chinese buffet restaurant. There will be blood alongside the mu shu pork and spare ribs.

Man, during his rookie year he was my favorite Bengal. This guy had more potential than any other Bengal I’d seen in a long time, less carson palmer. Damn it, Odell. Why do you have to be a moron? Why? Why are NFL players so stupid? Seriously, since I’ve been coming to this website (over a full calendar year :)) I cannot remember the “Days without an arrest” meter making it past 16. Why does my favorite sport have so many jackasses in it?????????

Wow. I had wanted to defend Odell. I thought that a two year ban from the league was a bit harsh. But DAMN! Anytime Chris Henry looks like a saint next to you…there’s an issue.
What a stupid ass. Someone pray for him.
