We vaguely recall seeing somewhere a suggestion that Brady Quinn’s shirtless torso and face were being used to advertise a gay dating web site.
According to TMZ.com, the image is indeed Quinn, and the ad has been in circulation for months.
Quinn’s lawyers have taken steps to force the site in question to stop using the photo.
The problem for Quinn is that, even if he’s straight, this is the kind of thing that can start Kordell-type rumors in Cleveland, and that can in turn affect Quinn’s performance, given that homophobia is one of the unwritten rules of an NFL locker room. As we noted last week, former Steelers receiver Plaxico Burress thinks that rumors of homosexuality impacted Kordell Stewart’s play in Pittsburgh.
So, basically, there’s no reason for anyone to suspect that Quinn is, might be, or ever has been attracted to men. None whatsoever.

the point isn’t whether he’s gay or not.
this is football news because the image of a football player is being used in advertisements without his permission.
If Steve Smith’s picture was being used for cigarette ads, without his permission, that would be interesting football related news, right?
right. glad we could agree.

Wow!? Florio– I have always appreciated your ability to dig up a story and provide us with the legal ramifications and subsequent fallout awaiting said “turds”.
But to run stories that attempt to slander upstanding young college graduates (who’ve never been on the blotter) is just plain irresponsible. Knowing just how homophobic an NFL locker room is (as evidenced by the Kordell story) it shocks me that you would fuel the flames of this one.
I used to laud you for your seemingly unbiased views on some of the turds Rich Rodriguez pardoned into the league, and didn’t even realize you were a New England Pay-Cheat fan until lately. But it seems as though you now believe you’re part of the real press(see: juicy headlines).
Rumor Monger. There is a fine line between cutting edge and losing credibility/respectability. Judging by your physical stature… you’re not athletic enough to balance for long.
ps. Mercenaries don’t play favorites…d’bag.

“This shows the idiocy of people…..if the site is using his likeness without his permission, how do people all of a sudden equate him with being homosexual?”
Probably because he likes to grab other guys’ packages.

Um, doesn’t he have to play before rumors can affect his play?

How in anyway is this site slandering Brady Quinn? Not like Florio made up the freakin story. And it may be relevant because some players believed that all those rumors did affect Kordell Stewart’s play. I love the mental midgets who comment about how wrong it is to slander Quinn, but in the same space make slandering claims about the writer of this site. Gay or not it doesn’t matter, but it is a football story because it deals with an NFL player and could cause some reaction from other players within the Browns locker room.

No, no, no, you have it all wrong. I hear that it isn’t an advertisement for the website where the picture of a shirtless Quinn is posted. That is his personal ad. Come on, Florio, get it straight.

No they’re just Cowboys fans.
Seriously, who found this Brady picture? Somebody had to be looking, not that there’s anything wrong with that.
