Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Jaguars receiver Jerry Porter has undergone surgery to repair a torn hamstring.
Porter is expected to miss training camp and the entire preseason.
Somewhere in Arkansas, Matt Jones is celebrating by cramming his face into a pile of blow.

Still talkin’ Jerry? If Art Shell did anything right it was putting Jerry Porter in his place. Good Luck this season. Can’t wait to see you get shut this year, if you even get off the bench that is.

Troy Williamson, here’s your big chance. So far, you haven’t dropped balls. It’s only been minicamps and OTAs, but that’s still something you couldn’t manage in Minnesota, so it’s *some* sort of step forward.

BooHoo. He is a #1 receiver, just ask him. I hate injuries and talking smack about them, but if SOMEONE had to have a hammy today, I’m glad it was old super-me JP. When he comes back, maybe he will now be able to outrun someone. I could catch him from behind.

Hey Raider Nation, Jacksonville will still be a contender without Porter for the PRESEASON.
Speaking of injured WR’s, is Javon Walker going to get his face stomped in again? Jacksonville went 11-5 with Dennis Northcutt as their No. 1 last year. This doesn’t effect the team at all.

Actually, Troy Williams didn’t drop balls in minicamp and OTAs with the Vikings. Every spring and summer coaches would always rave about how well he looks and how he turned the corner and each year would be his breakout year. He was always an All-Pro in shorts.
Then when crowds were there to watch, TV cameras were on him, and defenders were there to drill him, he’d look like an 8 year-old little leaguer try to catch a pop fly.
No pressure Troy. You’re now the go-to deep threat for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

Oh Alfred…. you foolish young Jedi…. when JP busts out his F-you shirt… it will start effecting your team… As turdish as Walker is… he can’t touch JP. Do you need a history lesson? JP can easily turn your 11-5 wet dream into an 8-8 fiasco… just wait. JP will start to wear on his teammates by november.

I’m a Jaguar fan and I wasn’t thrilled by this signing to begin with. Way too much money to a a guy that’s basically a head-case that can’t get along with coaches or teammates anyway. The Jaguars have a dozen sub-par receivers on staff, and now a high priced injured one. Great!
