A reader who holds season tickets to the Packers games tells us that he recently received his envelope full of rectangular pieces of glossy cardboard that will allow him to enter Lambeau Field on eight meaningful occasions after September 1, and on two meaningless occasions prior thereto.
Per the reader, the ticket to the Week One home game against the Vikings bears the image of — you guessed it — the guy whose jersey is still scheduled to be retired that night.
Here it is. Enjoy.

How awkward is it gonna be when his number is retired and he has to come out at halftime wearing a purple jersey?

How is that a surprise? The celebration that night has been on the books for a while now, correct?
I would be shocked if that WASN’T the ticket focus for that game.

So. He deserves all the accolades that franchise can give them. There are 25 teams in this league that wish they had a historic QB to their history. (I said Historic, not Ancient) So don’t tell me about Otto Graham and such.

Technically it’s only 6 games after September 1 - former Milwaukee season ticket holders get 2 games - and they got the 2 good ones this year (Chicago and Dallas!)

Vikings will be crushed no matter if Favre plays for any team. I can’t wait for the Packers to shut them out and run up the score again.

Consider this has been planned for a while, and the layout of the tickets was likely decided a while ago what is the big deal. I don’t think they could have or even should have changed the tickets when Favre still won’t say for sure that he wants to come back.
LOL @ Vikings Fans. When Allen was signed, it was Super Bowl with TJ. But now they are hoping for Favre because they all know that TJ sucks and will be a huge weak spot on the offensive (not to mention their lack of a true #1, and Berrain isn’t that).

@ Raisin
Sorry hon, but most Viking fans do not want Favre - and the few that do only want him as a means to stick it to the cheeseheads.
And speaking of lacking a true #1 - let’s talk about running back and their flash-in-the-pan Grant.

Everyone’s complaining about the hub-bub over Favre now. Imagine the volume when Fragile Aaron (who has Tollner Product stamped on the bottom of his happy feet) goes down in Week 1 with an injury.
I can see it now: Jared Allen pressures from the outside, Rodgers steps up and Pat Williams falls on him. Brian Brohm drops a load on the sideline. Realizing that their season was handed to an injury prone graduate of the University of Profile College Passers Who Turn Into Mediocre Pros and a couple rookies because their GM played stubborn with the local legend, Packer Backers turn and march on the management luxury box. TT is hospitalized with third degree polystyrene burns from being beaten with cheesehead lids.
Peter King dedicates the next month of MMQB to Favre love (wait, that’s no different than usual), and Jason Whitlock’s head/ego grows two sizes (requiring it’s own FAA restricted airspace) because he KNEW he was right.
Florio creates a new FavreBeans page and drives traffic to it from the Rumor Mill in effort to entice advertisement. Sadly, the two sponsors sign up: Adam Archuleta’s Freak of Training II - the Insurance Salesman’s Daily Workout, and http://www.cheesehead.com

Um, Zigi Milf, I am a Vikings fan, I would like to see Brett Favre in a Vikings uniform. Because even the most inept football fan knows who Favre is. If there ever was a single name that could bring more fans to the table, it would be Brett. Would Brett give the Vikings a better chance at winning? I don’t know. It would depend on how quickly he could pick up the system. Would l like to see Brett back with the packers…? Not really he has beaten us the last four times in a row. He went 13-3 last year. He is a good QB I wouldn’t want the Packers to have him back. But I honestly believe that Favre would be cut by the packers if he goes back. Only stupid pride would prevent them from cutting him. And as long as he does not go to the Bears I would be happy.

Well they say if your argument is weak, then insult to deflect attention. Way to go zygi milf to not only spell the name wrong but to add the hon. Ahh I think I must go cry now.
Yes, let’s talk about RBs. Yes the Vikings have Adrian “I am not going the Icky Woods route” Peterson who gain nearly 525 of his 1,341 yards in two games roughly 40 percent. Also he failed to break a 100 yards in his final 4 games and 3 other games not counting the game he went out injured where he didn’t break a 100. Anthony Thomas had a pretty decent rookie season once.
So has Adrian Peterson done any more than Ryan Grant up to this point to prove that he too isn’t a flash in the pan. Other than being a highly touted draft pick? No.
The only saving grace for the Vikings in this argument are the backups, Chester Taylor has shown he can step in and produce. Green Bay backups are still unknown at this point and may stay that way.
So has Ryan performed and played as a #1 back. Yes he has. Has Berrain really played and performed as a #1 WR? Maybe, no, not really. His talent is hard to judge given the QB play in Chicago which is why it should be interesting to see how he does with a good QB. Opps, never mind. I would be happy to have him as a #2 WR, a deep threat, but the Vikings still lack right now (and one may emerge maybe Rice) a guy to take the short pass thrown across the middle. Wait they do have Fergie!! Okay that last comment is unfair.
