Florio you nailed the AFC East perfectly. The Jets are in a for a long season and Mangini is going to be out of a job when they realize he’s no Belichick.
Do you think Mangini will be blackballed for bringing so much attention on the league by telling tales out of school….tales that everyone internal to the league knew about?

Actually if you had gone to journalism school you would have learned that it’s not considered annual until the third consecutive year.
Of course that’s the old school way, back when you had to wait for the morning newspaper to find out what happened the previous day.

the Jets have been cap strapped for a few years now, they had the money to spend and did so. If you’re going to put on a monkey suit and put yourself in front of a bad 1970’s espn cardboard set the least you could do is some homework.

Agree with you so much about the Bills. Remember they lost 2 of their 1st 3 games last year on a very last play field goal to Denver and Dallas. Suffered many injuries yet still was in the hunt until they lost 8-0 in the snow at Cleveland near the end of the year. I really think they will make a big run at the playoffs this year if they are healthy.

I agree with the assessment. This division is clearly owned by the Pats. The Bills are the only other team that really has a shot at the playoffs. Mangini is ruining the Jets, but may keep his job depending on if he has anything to blackmail the team with. We all know he will turn on his old employers at the drop of a hat, and we all have heard about the Jets engaging in questionable (at least) activities which have generated complaints from other teams and their own players. What would stop Mangini from saying “Either I remain head coach, or it all comes out?”
Dolphins can not help but do better, but they are still a long ways off, especially after another questionable draft.

Any chance someone (Taco Bill) can teach Florio how to make these into video podcasts that we can subscribe to? If I could watch these on the go, I would. I won’t have time to play them on youtube and it would be nice to let my software (iTunes in my case) keep track of which I have and haven’t watched.

wow not too tough to make that perdiction when it`s the weakest division in the NFL. Unlike the AFC South where count em all but Houston reached the playoffs last year and they still had a 500 record.
Can`t wait till Colts vs Pats this year and we destroy them.

Florio, have you lost your mind? The Patriots will be dead last this year. The only reason they ever won anything was because they were cheaters. They knew all the defensive signals! The fact they only won three Superbowls is a joke. Why didn’t they win seven in a row? Opposing coaches didn’t know they were being taped. Opposing teams never changed their signals. The Patriots should have had the most prolific scoring team ever during those years. They should have been undefeated every year. The fact that they weren’t means three things. Their coach is terrible. Stupid and terrible. And their quarterback is awful. A deadbeat. I predict 0-16 this year. It’s the only thing a dumb coach and pathetic quarterback could be capable of now that they can’t win because of their cheating. Go JETS JETS JETS!!!!!

So Florio’s analysis goes like this,
Patriots rule;
Bills likely to make playoffs because they were close last year and Titans suck;
Jets can’t make up there mind on whether to pay players big money or not so, ala L. Coles, all players will be poison in locker room hence poor production on the field;
‘Phins got Parcels. So what, they still suck.
I hope most of you reading this site don’t pay Florio for his “analysis”. What analysis? Allright, partial credit for sighting the Jets in dissarray due to money but, other than that, he just makes claims. Where’s the backup?
Here’s an analysis;
‘Phins season shaping up like 2005 where they had 9 wins following a terrible season in 2004 with only 4 wins. From ‘07 to ‘08 just like from ‘04 to ‘05,
‘Phins have improved coaching. I would argue much more improved in ‘08 than from ‘04 to ‘05,
‘Phins have proven running game unlike in ‘05 where it was unproven but yet resulted in two RBs with almost 2000yds total,
a revamped defense (and team for that matter) in ‘08 just like in ‘05,
questionable QBs- Frerrotte in ‘05, Beck, Henne, Mckown ‘08
New O-line in ‘08 just like in ‘05. With Satele, Smiley, Carey, and Long, much better in ‘08 than in ‘05.
All of these parallels along with the added caveat that in ‘05 the ‘phins won 9 games. Think about it. 9 wins in ‘05 with Gus Frerrotte! Conclusion; ‘Phins win 10 in ‘08, possibly make playoffs!
One last thing. The way the Jets and Bills have stacked their Defensive lines/LB’s, if either of them do one solid positive thing this year it will be to slam Brady on his back every chance they get!
Now that’s analysis worth paying for!
