Its already been stated that Sheldon is playing inside. He's always done so in nickel situations going back to the days with Rod Hood.

The Chargers had 3 CBs on the field last season 75% of the time. No reason why the Eagles can't do the same or even more which should keep all 3 happy.

Lito needs to realize 2 things.
1st that he got his money early while Assante took his chances on staying healthy and hitting free agency. Right choice by both players because Assante stayed healthy and played at a high level while Sheppard didn't.
2nd his next deal whether with the Eagles or whoever he gets traded to is dependent upon his performance and ability to stay healthy this year.

Lito is not. I repeat not TO. Not going to happen no matter who his agent is.

Its not a bad thing to have multiple talented corners especially the way the league offenses are going right now copying what the Colts and Pats have done. He's not being traded at this point because they won't be getting anything that overcomes the benefit of having him on the team no matter how he feels.

If Lito stays The Eagles are going to have a damn good secondary. If he gets on the field, stays healthy and produces then maybe revisit his contract.

Since Rosenhaus doesn't get paid until Sheppard gets a new contract, you can almost guarentee that they will be pushing for that all year. It's highly unlikely the Eagles will give him a new contract, since he's still locked up until 2011, and if they re-did his deal, they'd have to do the same with about 8 other players on the team who deserve to be re-upped much more than he does. It's in Sheppard's (and Rosenhaus') best interest to keep his mouth shut this year and stay healthy and perform on the field.

having the trio of corners would be very useful this year considering the birds are playing torry holt, terrell owens twice, hines ward/santonio holmes, deion branch, burress twice, chad johnson/tj houshmanzadeh, larry fitz/anquan boldin, braylon edwards

They have a schedule filed with pass heavy teams and star studded wideouts, it's important that they have depth in their defensive backfield

Passing downs will likely see Sheldon Brown play some safety too, and that's an even greater strength. Jim Johnson is creative enough to make this work with ample playing time for everyone involved. It's a strength, and as long as the Philly media can see that perspective, this won't turn ugly.

I do not think Lito will be traded. In this pass happy league, 3 good corners is very helpful. All 3 will be on the field a lot. Give Jim Johnson some time to work this out. 3 d-backs who can cover man to man will give him many MORE blitzing opportunities. With the uncertanty of Dawkins (I think he will be solid), this is a no-brainer to keep him.

The only reason to give up Lito is if we were to get a true number 1 reciever. They won't. They do not need draft picks.

Every year, going back to the loss at St. Luis, the Eagles get burnt with an injury to a D-back. Keep him. Heck, maybe we can see him do pushups in his driveway.
