Jason Taylor let the acrimony between him and his current employers show in an interview with ESPN’s Ed Werder in which the Dolphins defensive end said he appears to have exhausted all other options besides staying put in Miami for the 2008 season.
“I may not have a choice” but to play for the Dolphins, he said.
Werder then raised the prospect of retirement, to which Taylor replied, “You can always do that too,” though Edgar Thompson of the Palm Beach Post’s Inside the Dolphins blog detected a heavy dose of resignation in his voice.
The Packers, Cowboys, Patriots, Chargers, Eagles, Jaguars, among others, were mentioned as possible trade destinations for the six-time Pro Bowler and former Defensive Player of the Year.
The Packers contacted the Dolphins about acquiring Taylor last month, but Taylor, according to sources, wasn’t interested in playing for a small market or a team going through a quarterback controversy.

Hmm, yeah, playing for your team can happen sometimes when you’re under contract.

Waddya mean no choice? Swap the Dancer for the Unretiree in Green Bay (plus KGB for a draft pick) and all problems solved for both Thompson and Parcells.

LOL…JT won’t play for a good small market team with QB controversy, but he’ll be forced to play for a rebuilding organization with a DE controversy.
…and exactly WHO mentioned the patriots as a possible trade destination??? Bill Parcells would NEVER trade a player of JT’s caliber in the AF C East.

Poor Jason Taylor, how horrible that he has to play a sport for a living & get paid $8 million for it. This is another player who is under contract & thinks he is above the team despite taking the money that goes along with that terrible contract.I know that the Dolphins went 1-15 last year but last I checked he played on that 1-15 team.Shouldn’t JT take some responsibility on how bad the team was?

The Packers are going through a quarterback controversy?
Kidding, of course, but I was certainly curious as hell as to which of the 56,299 Brett Favre-related PFT blog posts you were going to link “qb controversy” to. I’m surprised it went to a different website.

The Pack should trade Aaron Rodgers and Ted Thompson to the Dolphins for Jason Taylor and a roll of toilet paper. Then they can reinstall Favre as the starter (where he belongs) put Taylor on the D line and win the next two Super Bowls!

Where is all the fans screaming for his release? Hasn’t he earned it? Isn’t this another Favre situation minus one a hole.
